od is fair to one and all. This statement was proved right during the Zee TV Hero Honda Saregamapa Singing Superstar Delhi auditions. Pankaj Namdev - a handicapped man who sings bhajans at the temple door came for the Delhi auditions and mesmerized everyone with his mellifluous voice. Namdev's soulful rendition on the song "mere sahibaan..." sent all the mentors into a reverie. Mentor Shekhar was so captivated with the beautiful voice of this disabled man that he literally went into a trance. He left his judge's seat and went and sat at Pankaj's feet. Said Shekhar, "I felt like I'm sitting in a temple worshipping the divine... Your voice has given me so much calm and peace... I feel lucky to be a part of Saregamapa where I come across such mind blowing voices..."

Gifted singers artists like Namdev make up a significant but small percentage of India's classical music catalogue; and its Saregamapa's growing focus to discover and promote such undiscovered talent. A few months ago, 12/24 Karol Bagh on Zee TV had a 20-day track on molestation. Many viewers wrote in with their own stories. "Our Facebook page is full, many bloggers talk about family embarrassment," sighs Sharma. Another Zee show, Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli, is addressing the issue of domestic violence. A year ago, the Imagine daily, Jyoti, had focused on the same issue. Lead actress Sneha Wagh is a real life victim herself. eil Nitin Mukesh and Deepika joined the Chhote Ustaad gang to promote their latest film, Lafangey Parindey, and have some fun with the contestants and judges. Despite suffering from a severe headache, Neil popped pills and came on sets and managed to have a great time. Likewise, Sonu Nigam who was down with fever, took injections during the shoots and was enthusiastic in spite of the fever. This was Deepika's first appearance on the show. She broke down when Rahat Fateh Ali Khan sang "Main Jahan Rahoon". She was overwhelmed with emotion and burst into tears. She was emotional for quite some time. And then on Neil's request, Sonu took centrestage and sang "Ab Mujhe Raat Din" which finally made Deepika smile. Neil and Sonu sang "Jaane Kahan Gaye Wo Din". Sonu said that his dad is a Mukesh Bhakt. This song is a tribute to his father and Neil's grandfather Late Mukesh. Deepika sings as well after Neil egged her on to sing "Mann Lafanga." Sonu praised her for singing in sur.

All women had to wish a happy birthday to Ranbir Kapoor in a very different style. In this task, Rupali Ganguly got first position. Another question was - "Inme Se Kaun Ladko Ke Samne Girgit Ki Tarah Rang Badalti Hai?" They had to judge themselves in order to 1-8 ranks. The question was asked by 100 men also. Neha got number 1 position in the internal ranking. However, Karishma Tanna was on the first position by public voting. Finally, Yami Gautam was chosen as Meeth Choori because she spoke less and was diplomatic during the episode.

et in Kolhapur, Sarva Gunn Sampanna is the story of Swara, a well known theatre dancer who is the only child of her parents. She and her parents work in a theatre group which does stages in an around the small towns of Maharastra. Swara's parents do not want their daughter to continue with dancing as a career and want her to settle down. Life takes a big turn for Swara when she becomes the bahu of the most respectable and esteemed family of Kolhapur - the Deshmukh family. Life seems like a Cinderella tale for Swara as she is accepted by every member of the house including her husband Aditya, who initially was reluctant to marry her. But soon her past and background catches up with her and the fact of her being a "Lavni dancer" opens up in front of her inlaws and Swara's life crashes in front of her. From here starts Swara's struggle to rebuild her life and one day attain the pinnacle she had dreamt of.

The auditions for the same were conducted across 12 cities of Punjab and Delhi in July-August 2010. It received an overwhelming response from Punjabi women. ore than 50 years old, Andaz is a romantic triangle that represents in many ways an allegory of the newly independent India. There is the liberated woman in Nargis whose story through the progression of the film symbolizes the dangerous seductions of modernity, the Â´entrepreneurÂ´ of the new India in Dilip Kumar who in his eagerness to occupy the space left vacant by the vanishing aristocracies of the old India is unaware of the equally regressive hauntings in these very spaces, and finally the aristocratic Raj Kapoor who enormously and tragically miscalculates the dynamics of these new equations. In a sense all three characters fumble around in the mappings of newly independent India and their interactions create the tragedies of Andaz. Neeta (Nargis) befriends Dilip (Dilip Kumar) after the latter saves her from a potential horse-riding accident. Dilip misunderstands this friendship to be love. Then one day Rajan (Raj Kapoor) who has been abroad arrives and Dilip learns that Neeta has in fact been engaged to Rajan all along. Dilip reveals to Neeta the truth about his emotions for her. Neeta is shocked and turns away totally from him and in the meantime also marries Rajan. But Rajan, at a party Rajan overhears a conversation between Dilip and his wife which because of its incompleteness throws a web of suspicion on his mind about Neeta. From here the story moves towards its ultimately tragic denouement.

mute and minimalist drama far ahead of its times, Anupama tells the story of Uma (Sharmila Tagore) whose father (played with brilliant authority by Tarun Bose) detests his daughter ever since his beloved wife died during childbirth. The transference of his grief into the daughter's guilt is majestically achieved through the subtle screenplay and sparse dialogues. Dharmendra as an author who brings the repressed girl's angst out is also unforgettable. The stress on the spoken word and its opposition to the silence of stifled emotions comes across in the contrasting characters played by Sharmila Tagore and Shashikala. What gave Anupama its bedrock of emotional strength was the troubled father-daughter relationship.

What Seema does not know is that Ajay is actually Assistant Commissioner of Police, Ajay Singh Rathod, who has been assigned the task of apprehending a group of terrorists that are being sheltered and protected by corrupt parliamentary representatives, with arms being supplied by Pakistan. Ajay does not know that the trail which he is following will lead him to Rajasthan, right into the house of the person who runs this operation - a person who is known to him.

This Dev is a multimillionaire, scheming, and devious, and a Dev who will try to win Anjali over by hook or by crook. But Anjali bypasses her haunted memories of Dev and finally falls in love with Ram and will not leave him by any chance.

t's official! After months of speculation, reports and rumours, actor Salman Khan has finally admitted that he has broken with long-time girlfriend Katrina Kaif. "I have broken up with Katrina," said the 44-year old, in a recent television interview. "We were friends then for everybody, we are friends now." At a public event recently, Katrina too, had said, "I am not in a relationship right now. Though I have plans for my wedding, there is no one in my life right now." While Salman and Katrina were unavailable for comment, a close friend of Salman says that problems started during the shooting of Salman's film Wanted last year. "They are definitely not together anymore. Salman was really depressed during the shooting of Wanted... he won't get any calls from Katrina, unlike earlier. But, he made sure he stopped stressing about it and they're friends now. It wasn't a bitter break-up" Interestingly, Kat has been missing from most events organised by Salman for his charity, Being Human, in the past three months. "She's also been staying away from Salman's family gatherings, even though she still visits his house as a friend," says a source from Katrina's clan. Salman's spokesperson, however, continues to deny the break-up reports, saying, "He did not give such a quote. He doesn't talk about his personal life. Her enviable record of 10 on 14 is unmatched by any of her contemporaries. Work aside, this Bollywood beauty is also preoccupied with getting a new home. "Yeah I want a seaside apartment or bungalow. I like my current home. But I have been toying with the idea of getting myself a bigger place. I'd like my mother to come and live with me. And the rest of my family who lives overseas, to visit me often," says Kat. Ask the usual cliched question on whether she has time for love and marriage in her scheme of things, and Kat says, "Of course, all girls do. I enjoy wealth. But I know that when I marry, it will be for love." She confesses that she is a romantic and if there is one thing she is absolutely sure about is that she will demand absolute faithfulness from her partner. "I will not tolerate infidelity," says Kat.

The key to success is versatility, it seems. Mallika has recently acquired the script of a horror film that she is very keen on acting in. During her one-year stay in the US, Mallika has come across several scripts from different writers. She has apparently loved the one that is supposed to be a horror story on reincarnation. Though the film will most probably be directed by a Hollywood director, it will have, Mallika tells us, a very Bollywood feel to it. Mallika says, "I have heard the script of a horror film on reincarnation. It is currently in the developing process. When it is complete, one shall work on the director aspect." Like "Hissss", which is supposed to be a typically Bollywood story but has been directed by Hollywood director Jennifer Lynch, this film too has a mish-mash of sorts. But an optimistic Mallika adds, "I have met so many writers and only one of them brought this lovely horror script to me." After signing a new film with Amitabh Bachchan, the horror film seems like the next best thing to Mallika. Though a bit homesick now, Mallika is looking forward to this new project. She says, "It's been more than a year that I have been in the US but it has been fruitful. This is indeed an interesting phase in my career and is taking me in the right direction."

Buzz is that Kat walked out from Italian Job Bollywood version because of a Yashraj project with Imran Khan. hen it comes to love-making scenes, Neil Nitin Mukesh has still a long way to go. So it was discovered when Neil landed up in Coorg to play the first of Priyanka Chopra's seven husbands in Vishal Bhardwaj's Saat Khoon Maaf. During the love-making scene, Priyanka had to put all her acting skills into action to get the shy Neil to perform on par. Apparently, there are seven love-making sequences for the actress with her seven screen husbands, each of different moods and playing-time. The love scene with Neil turned out to be somewhat more complicated than he had bargained for. That's when Neil panicked. Thorough professional that she is Priyanka, sailed through the love scenes with her other screen husbands. With Neil, there was apparently some awkwardness and much re-takes before, much to Neil's relief, the shot was okayed. Neil doesn't deny the absence of an adequate comfort level with Priyanka. "But that's because I hardly got to know her before working with her in Coorg. It was like â&#x20AC;Śin and out. We didn't get to know one another at all. I hardly had time to reach Coorg before we started shooting. There was no time for proper rehearsals." aking its title from Sister Sledge's hit song, Siddharth P Malhotra's We Are Family stars Kareena Kapoor and Kajol in the roles made famous by Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon in the Chris Columbus original Stepmom. The movie is about a cancer struck divorcee who has to accept the other woman in her ex-husband's life as the stepmother of her kids, and the problems the two women face in relationship with each other. Maya (Kajol) is the perfect mother. Her life revolves around her three children, Aleya (Aachal Munjal), Ankush (Nominath Ginsberg) and Anjali (Diya Sonecha) and she thinks nothing much about the world around her. Despite being divorced from her husband Aman (Arjun Rampal), Maya has ensured that everything runs smoothly in her house under her watch, and that they continue to remain a happy family unit. However, when Aman introduces his girlfriend, Shreya (Kareena Kapoor), a career-oriented woman, who has a lot to learn about children, to the family, the situation takes an unexpected turn. When an incident changes their lives drastically, bringing the two women under the same roof, they find themselves putting to test an unusual situation; can two mothers make a home? Arjun Rampal steps into Ed Harris' shoes and really leaves the film to the ladies, who both seem ready to ramp it up. In a trailer about the film Kareena is chirpily telling her stepchildren that they won't be going to school today, a balloon Kajol wastes no time in hysterically popping. We then see a bubblegum montage of moments of conflict between the two leading ladies. When Rampal asks his young son how difficult it'll be living with all these girls. 'We Are Family' is a homage to both Soorajji and Karan,' said Malhotra. Sooraj, who has become ultra-reclusive in recent months, has agreed to watch the film. 'Sooraj-ji will be the first to watch 'We Are Family'. My film is just 1 hour 55 minutes long. I hope I make him proud,' said Malhotra. The film is releasing Sept 3. If Karan has decided not to let his production clash with Salman Khan's 'Dabangg', it is because his good friend Shah Rukh Khan advised him to avert the clash. Apparently Shah Rukh felt doubly protective towards 'We Are Family' since it involved two of his closest friends Karan and Kajol. In fact, when Shah Rukh came to know Kajol was expecting, he went out of his way to accommodate his dates for Kareena in 'Ra.1' with 'We Are Family'. "Dabangg' and Shankar's 'Robot' are releasing on Eid. So we have the Bollwood's Rajnikant (Salman) and Rajnikant on the same day. It just made no sense for us to release with them. What is high blood pressure? E

veryone has blood pressure. Blood pressure is the force exerted on the walls of your arteries by the blood being pumped around your body. This pressure naturally changes to meet your body's needs. It varies during the day depending on how busy you are, whether you are standing or sitting, awake or asleep, or how worried you are about things. Minor variations in your blood pressure are quite normal throughout the day, and from day to day and are nothing to worry about. However, if your blood pressure remains consistently high. Even when you are calm and relaxed, serious problems can occur. Having high blood pressure increases your chances of having a heart attack, heart failure, a stroke, and kidney disease, as outlined by the Heart Foundation's Guide to management of hypertension 2008. Your doctor may also refer to high blood pressure as hypertension. How is blood pressure measured? Your blood pressure should be checked regularly by your doctor. How often will depend on your age and general health - your doc-

tor will let you know. Ideally you should be relaxed and should not drink coffee or smoke for a couple of hours before your blood pressure is taken. You may be asked to monitor your blood pressure at home or use a 24-hour recording device. This is particularly helpful if going to the doctor makes you anxious. When your blood pressure is checked, two measurements are taken: the pressure in the arteries when the heart pumps the blood around your body (systolic pressure). These readings are recorded as the systolic over the diastolic pressure and are measured in millimetres of mercury, for example, '120 over 80' or 120/80 mmHg. What do the readings mean? Blood pressure readings fall within five general groups ranging from normal to severe hypertension (see below). You are usually considered to have high blood pressure if your reading is above 140/90 mmHg. Your doctor is the only person who should

determine the safe range for your blood pressure. Different factors will influence your target blood pressure, including whether you have other cardiovascular risk factors or other conditions. For example, if you have diabetes associated with kidney disease or protein in the urine, a target blood pressure below 130/80 mmHg may be recommended. You have broken more rules than most Kapoors would have done I guess times are changing. I've been fortunate to be at the right place at the right time when film-makers are approaching new kinds of films, new subjects, new characters. The superstars have crossed a certain age and I'm part of the newer generation. That's a very kind comment to make on all our 40-plus stars. Not at all. They have got different characters to play. They aren't doing the college-boy roles; those are coming to me. As Neetu and Rishi's son, you would have been expected to be a bit more of a yahoo than you are. The word expectation has been attached to me from the day I started working. But I have certain ideologies about how I want to work. Tell us about your ideologies. It's stuff I relate to, that I've grown up with. I've had a comfortable life; I've studied in New York and have been exposed to different cultures. I just don't want to run around trees. I would rather do films like Rocket Singh and Wake Up Sid. These are films I connect to, I've friends like these characters. More likely to have friends like Sid than Rocket Singh. Yes. That film is an underdog's story. Everything is not about Raj and Rahul in films. I don't think I've seen many characterisations of a sardar as an underdog. I think that has to change. It's not only about Singh is Kinng, though that is also part of cinema. I have nothing against commercial cinema. Which film do you prefer, Rocket Singh or Wake Up Sid? I like Rocket Singh as a film. I thought it would explode the scene, that it would be like Munnabhai. But nobody really went to see it.

The experience of acting out a character like Sid was awesome. I got to work with a dear friend, director Ayan Mukherjee. Are you friends with many young directors? In this industry, friendship is based on success or on whether you guys are going to do another film together. You have to have friends you've grown up with; there are no new friends. So, who are the friends you've grown up with? They are my parents' friends' children: Abhay Chopra (Ravi Chopra's son) and Rohit Dhawan (David Dhawan's son). They are aspiring directors. There's also Binoy Gandhi, an aspiring actor. And Ayan. Have you watched all your parents' movies? I've watched all my father's movies but I'm a little shy about watching my mother's films because I feel nobody has the right to judge her. My parents have just done a movie together; it's called Do Dooni Chaar. Now that I under stand this profession, it's heart-warming to see my mother on screen. That should also make you understand the pressures that come with it. I have no pressure. I'm not running after money. I love my job. I'm very ambitious. People say I want to be the biggest actor or the greatest star. But I want to be both. And I am finding the middle ground without any restrictions. My parents don't interfere in my career. My father only helps me with the monetary side of the profession. You've been in relationships. Are they part of work or part of life? That's part of life which transcends work. But because you are a celebrity, there's an invasion of your private life. If you are in a relationship, it's not for the public, but for yourself. Actors live like gypsies and are constantly travelling; you need a stable factor in your life and when you meet somebody like that, why should you not do it? You are the youngest challenger for the top spot. Do you see a generation gap between you and the Khans, Hrithik Roshan? My competition is not just Imran Khan, Shahid Kapoor and Harman Baweja. From Shah Rukh Khan to Mr Amitabh Bachchan, right down to Darsheel Zafary - they all are competition. I feel jealous of anyone who gives a good performance. Which was the last performance you were jealous of? Aamir Khan in 3 Idiots. But I don't have a favourite actor nor do I have this notion that I'm going to be the next big superstar.

riter-director Anusha Rizvi's debut feature, a disarmingly simple but remarkably powerful film, is a major triumph. She taps into the power of the medium to narrate a story rooted firmly in the depressing realities of rural India, but without ever going into paroxysms of self-righteous indignation.

Peepli Live lampoons an entire range of usual suspects - voyeuristic media persons, smarmy bureaucrats, scheming local-level political goons and selfserving rulers, all of whom want a piece of the sleepy village where a farmer is about to kill himself so that his family can survive. Thanks to the film's nifty blend

of humour and bathos, it does not slip into diatribe mode. It instead acquires the spiky edge of a pulsating yet biting satire. Rizvi collates elements from the theatre of the absurd to craft her sly portrait of a grim scenario that urban Indian moviegoers are rarely, if ever, exposed to. The film explores the clinical and incongruous response of the media and the ruling establishment to what is a life and death question for a farmer on the brink of becoming just another statistic in a never-ending tale of woes. This coldness is best captured in the nonchalant refrain of the natty agriculture secretary: "we must wait for the court's order." The peasant-protagonist Natha (amateur actor Omkar Das) cannot wait. He and his elder brother, Budhia (Raghuvir Yadav), are in danger of losing their plot of land, having failed to repay a bank loan. By way of one last desperate throw of the dice, Natha decides to commit suicide in the hope of securing a government compensation of Rs 100,000 for his dependents. But as word gets around, the media descends on the village for a scoop and opportunistic politicians jump into the fray to draw mileage from Natha's predicament. As the frenzy peaks, cold drink kiosks and tea stalls come up around Natha's house in next to no time. The whole world wants to know whether Natha will really die. But does anybody really care? We laugh as everybody in Peepli seems to cut a sorry figure. But do we feel guilty as well? Peepli Live seeks to push us across the line that divides detached glee and genuine concern.

eneath the opulent, ostentatious, chic look of Aisha, one unsurprisingly stumbles upon a gem of a story flimsily told. About 200 years, Jane Austen's 'Emma' comes to life once again on the silver screen in director Rajshree Ojha's film Aisha, starring Sonam Kapoor as its titular protagonist. Set in the high society of Delhi, it's the story of a rich, privileged girl with truckloads of designer costumes, lots of free time and an irrepressible fixation to play cupid between people who would rather be happy left alone. Aisha (Sonam) is surrounded by a bunch of friends who patronize her, pamper her, irritate her, peeve her, drool over her and also become a vocation for her. There's Arjun (Abhay Deol), an investment banker, who keeps giving Aisha reality checks and is the source of unending annoyance and irritation for her. There's the spunky Pinky

The first half of the film whooshes past in character introductions and also the matchmaking antics of the eponymous heroine. Aisha's a breeze of fresh air. Her eye always on the lookout for opposite genders to make a match with

(Ira Dubey), Aisha's best friend who speaks out her mind without being obsequious. There's the small-town girl Shefali (Amrita Puri) who's come to Delhi to get married. Aisha takes her under her wing and tries to fix up her match with possible suitors, including Randhir Gambhir (Cyrus Sahukar) the son of a mithai baron. There's the charming Dhruv (Arunoday Singh), a London-returned hunk for whom Aisha develops a liking. And then, there's Aarti (Lisa Haydon), a gorgeous, sexy chick who is a close friend of Arjun, but an object of jealousy for Aisha. The first half of the film whooshes past in character introductions and also the matchmaking antics of the eponymous heroine. Aisha's a breeze of fresh air. Her eye always on the lookout for opposite genders to make a match with. And Sonam, with her affected mannerisms, is perfectly suited to play the part. The way she simpers, puckers up her face or raises a brow has every hint of the superficiality of high class gentry. To that effect, Sonam performs well. The second half of the film becomes somewhat a mess when the castle of Aisha's creation comes crumbling down like a house of cards and the relationships go kaput. The track between Arjun and Aarti (Abhay and Lisa) and Aisha and Dhruv (Sonam and Arunoday) isn't as perky as could have been and the jealousy pangs that the two lead stars get out of it aren't really plausible. In fact, the film's pace slackens but the proceedings do speed up again after Aisha does soul searching and realizes her love for Arjun.

EK HANDI NU DAL BHAAT Ingredients Split pigeon pea (toor dal/arhar dal): 3/4 cup Rice: 1 cup Onions: 4 medium Salt: to taste Ghee: 4 tablespoons Oil: 1/4 cup Bay leaves: 2 Ginger paste: 3/4 teaspoon Garlic paste: 3/4 teaspoon Green chilli paste: 3/4 teaspoon Tomatoes, chopped: 2 medium Garam masala powder: 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder: 1/8 teaspoon Red chilli powder: 1/2 teaspoon Potatoes , 8 pieces each: 2 medium Fresh coriander leaves, chopped: 2 tablespoons Cloves: 2 Black peppercorns: 2 Cumin seeds: 3/4 teaspoon Method Finely slice three onions and chop one. Cook dal with one and a quarter cups of water, salt and one tablespoon of ghee. When half done, strain and leave it aside. Do not discard the stock. Half boil the rice in three cups of water as for biryani. Drain excess water. Heat oil, add sliced onions and fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper and set aside. This is called birista. To the same oil add two tablespoons of ghee and heat. Add bay leaves and the chopped onion. Fry till the onion is translucent. Add ginger paste, garlic paste and green chilli paste, birista, tomatoes, garam masala and all the dry masalas. SautĂ&#x2C6; well. Add dal along with the potatoes and coriander leaves. Fry well then cover with half boiled rice. Heat one tablespoon of ghee, add cloves, black peppercorns, cumin seeds. When a nice aroma is give out add the tempering to the dal-rice mixture. Cover and cook on dum till done. Serve hot.

TRI COLOURED DHOKLA Ingredients Rice: 1/2 cup, Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal): 2 1/2 tablespoons, Sour yogurt: 3/4 cup, Gram flour (besan), sieved: 1 cup, Turmeric powder: 1/4 teaspoon, Oil: 2 tablespoons Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons, Soda bicarbonate: 1/4 teaspoon,Salt: to taste,Fresh coriander leaves bunch: 2 medium, Fresh mint leaves bunch: 1 medium, Green chillies: 4-6, Sugar: 1 teaspoon, Ganthia: 1/4 cup, Mustard seeds: 1 teaspoon, Fresh coriander leaves, chopped: 2 tablespoons, Coconut, scraped: 1/2 cup Method For white dhokla grind rice and urad dal into a coarse powder. Take the powder in a bowl and add two tablespoons yogurt and three fourth cup of warm water. Mix thoroughly to

make a batter of pouring consistency. Take care that no lumps are formed. Set aside to ferment for eight to ten hours. For khaman dhokla take gram flour and turmeric powder in a bowl. Add remaining yogurt and approximately three fourth cup of warm water and mix well to avoid lumps. Set it aside to ferment for three to four hours. Heat water in a pan. Place a ring in it. Take the fermented white dhokla batter and add a mixture of half tablespoon oil, half tablespoon lemon juice and one fourth teaspoon soda bicarbonate and mix thoroughly. Add salt and mix. Heat water in a steamer. Grease a thali and pour the white dhokla batter till half full. Place it on the ring in the pan. Keep it in the steamer, cover and steam for five minutes Grind together coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chillies, one tablespoon lemon juice, salt, sugar and ganthia to a smooth paste. Mix the remaining lemon juice, half tablespoon oil and turmeric powder in a small bowl. Add remaining soda bicarbonate and stir to mix. Add it to the khaman batter and mix. Remove the white dhokla from the steamer and spread a thick layer of green chutney on it.Pour the khaman batter over the chutney layer and steam again for ten to twelve minutes or until cooked. If a skewer inserted in the dhokla comes out clean it is done. For tempering heat remaining oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. When the seeds splutter pour the tempering over the tri-coloured dhokla. Cut it into squares and serve garnished coriander leaves and scraped coconut. September 2010 I 32 I KonnecTV

NO CRASH DIET OR STARVING T

he best way to achieve a fit body is to have adequate sleep and a balanced diet. I don't take tensions to bed and sleep at least 7-8 hours every day. I turn in by 10 pm if I am not shooting, and even if I am, I take power naps between shots. It helps keep your body fit and also makes you look and feel good. I drink at least a litre of water as soon as I get up as it helps burn 25 per cent of calories and increases metabolism. It flushes out toxins at the start of day. I drink water throughout the day as well. It keeps my skin free of blemishes. I work out twice a day because I do not believe in making my workout monotonous. So I enjoy it twice a day, which keeps me fresh. I do weight training and also cardio, swimming and martial arts throughout the week. The whole idea is to have variety in the routine and keep it interesting so that I don't get bored. I have frequent frugal meals which includes a heavy breakfast, healthy lunch and a light dinner accompanied by three small meals throughout the day. My small meals could be a bowl of fruits, a handful of dry fruits or a hot cup of tea with two Marie biscuits. Also I never have dinner close to my bed time. I never crash diet or starve. It's a big NO for me. I believe in being aesthetically beautiful and never take short cuts.
