Geeta is a story that revolves around the same and highlights this issue with one girl standing up against it and fighting society. Rahul goes off to Delhi and meets Mona, a spoilt girl who is the daughter of a socialite Malini Yadav. Circumstances create a situation where Rahul falls in love and ends up marrying Mona due to Malini's pressure and brings her home. What they don't know is that Mona is the daughter of a very shrewd and cunning lady. Malini pulls the string and Mona like her puppet starts to destroy the well earned reputation of the Bhagat family bit by bit. She starts to claim that the family is doing atyachar on her daughter.

Then begins a tussle of the nani to save Runjhun and the secret about her kundali from the mamas and their wives, and her Chacha and Chachi, who all want to exploit her goodness and innocence.

eter Church's passion for Asia has led to three books, the latest of which is 'Added Value - The Life Stories of Indian Business Leaders'. This inspirational book combines invaluable advice with remarkable and candid inside stories of thirty Indian business leaders. Rahul Sanghvi of Konnectv, who spoke to PETER CHURCH about his book, says he is the perfect Australian and a very warmhearted person. Excerpts from the interview: Rahul Sangvi: What inspired you to write this book? Peter Church: I am a lawyer and an advisor by profession. I wanted to know about these business people apart from their wealth. How interesting they are and wanted to share it with the world. I decided on India because after the end of 'licence raj,' there have been a lot of people who have been really successful in business. RS: Give us a few highlights of the book. PC: A very significant development is the end of the joint family in urban India. This kind of family can work only in an agrarian society and Indian society has been changing

on a large scale. In the joint family the laziest of the family members get the same as the hard working ones. I support this break up of the joint family. The book talks about the insights and achievements of the successful businessmen. RS: How did you choose the people to interview? PC: Half a dozen friends, lawyers and clients from India provided me with the lists and from these I selected those people who are clean on business and are not very well known around the world.

RS: How was the experience meeting and speaking to these people and how was your experience in India? PC: I used to visit India on a regular bases in the 1980s but then stopped in the mid of the decade. I went back to the country in the 1990s for cross border deals and other observations and study. India is the most cosmopolitan society and the private sector has succeeded without the support of the government which is a very big achievement. India is a very competitive market. There is even competition among members of the same family, which is very healthy. RS: What is the message you are conveying through this book? PC: The message from India is that just like cricket, they are better than the rest. There is no inferiority, but in the private sector they are the best and fastest developing without government support. RS: What do you feel is the target market for this book? PC: Inspiring the youngsters that even last benchers create history. Not all of them were toppers but surely have come out to be the smartest. Also, motivating those who already have a business.

We haven’t started shooting for Short Term Shaadi (their movie under the Yash Raj Films banner) yet. But, Saif, after watching him in his film I Hate Luv Storys (in which he starred alongside actor Sonam Kapoor), feels that heís bright and talented. And that he and I make a great pair. Now, Ragini Khanna will be seen making her debut as the female lead in film-maker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Teen Thay Bhai. Khanna reveals that she was in a state of depression when she was signed on for the film. After an audition, when she was called for an interaction with Mehra, she was "neither excited nor nervous." She says, "My focus was on getting a good project". After being briefed about the film and the role, she was asked of her opinion, and she remembers blurting out, "I am a jobless actor right now, I will do it." Though she is a big fan of Mehra's work, the film-maker hasn't seen a lot of her work. "I haven't seen her show, but I have caught some of the promos, which starred Ragini. She is very entertaining and has the innocence and spark we needed," says Mehra, whose last film was Delhi 6. His new film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Shreyas Talpade and Om Puri, and is being helmed by first-time director Mrigdeep Singh Lamba. Plenty of comedy and action

espite retaining most characters from its previous outings, "Golmaal 3" enters a hitherto uncharted territory. Madhav (Warsi), Laxman (Khemu) and Lucky (Kapoor) are the three scheming sons of Pritam (Mithun) who manage to lure Vasooli (Mukesh Tiwari) into one scheme after another. However, as luck would have it, in everything they start, they find competition from three other down-on-their-luck kids Gopal (Ajay Devgn), Laxman (Shreyas Talapade) and Dabbu (Kareena Kapoor) with funding from Puppy bhai (Johnny Lever). Gopal and Laxman are the sons of Geeta (Ratna Pathak Shah). Inevitably, locking horns they end up destroying each others businesses. What the two groups don't know is that their parents are unrequited ex-lovers. When Dabbu finds out she schemes and unites the two lovers in a marriage without letting their children know about their stepbrothers. All hell breaks loose when they finally find out and a hilarious war engulfs between the two groups right under their parents noses. Like its predecessors "Golmaal 3" has enough laughs going through the film to keep the momentum. Johnny Lever as the Ghajini-style forgetful don who adopts a new filmy avatar every few minutes has the audience in splits.

Retro fever 'replayy' T

he retro fever has certainly caught Bollywood big time! First it was Farah Khan's Om Shanti Om, which paid a classic tribute to the 70s. To execute a retro theme in a narrative isn't a piece of cake and Farah executed it with aplomb. Based on a famous Gujarati play of the same name, Action Replayy sees the reunion of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshay Kumar after Khakee. The plot is inspired from Robert Zemeckis' Back To The Future, a timetravel comedy. Bunty (Aditya Roy Kapoor) loves his girlfriend Tanya (Sudeepa Singh) but doesn't want to marry her. Why? Because of his parents, Kishen (Akshay Kumar) and Mala (Aishwarya Rai). He has seen them quarrelling all through their married life. One day, Tanya's grandfather, Professor Anthony Gonsalves (Randhir Kapoor), gives him the choice to either marry Tanya or forget her forever. Using Professor's time machine, he transports himself to the 70s and plans to rewrite his parents' destiny. If you're expecting a fun ride with loads of gags coupled with romance and drama, you are in for a disappointment. There are just a few smileinducing moments in this otherwise lackadaisical film.

THE REBEL After a long time, we see you without a stubble in Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey. Yes, I made a very big sacrifice for the film; I gave away my stubble. I feel very naked without it. I did it just to impress my director. You are also seen in a dhoti in the film. Are you comfortable wearing one? I love wearing a dhoti, it is very comfortable. I wear a dhoti even in everyday life. I know how to tie my dhoti. I feel really strange that today we have to ask Àre you comfortable wearing an Indian attire?' Have we become that westernized? I prefer wearing Indian clothes to western ones. Besides the physicalities of the role, how else did you prepare for the role of Surjya Sen? For almost two years, Ashu (director Ashutosh Gowariker) researched the Chittagong Uprising, Surjya Sen and the other characters who took part in the uprising. There is very little photographic documentation of him and those that were available were from the period after he was arrested. It would have been great if we could get the video footage of them, then we could have really studied them. When playing a real life character you want the portrayal to be as real as possible. But here Ashu told us that we are not making a biopic on Surjya Sen, the film is about the Chittagong uprising and not a single person. So Ashu was okay if we took a little liberty in our portrayal of the characters. How aware were you of the film's subject matter? When Ashutosh told me the story, I was very embarrassed because I didn't know about Surjya da. Once I learnt the story, I felt that this story needed to be told. On an emotional level, I wanted whatever happened in the uprising to be told on a larger level. It must be flattering to have Ashutosh choose you but you must also be aware he never repeats his actors. Every actor wants to work with Ashutosh. Vadya Cha Kalvan INGREDIENTS

METHOD

Gram flour (besan) 1 cup Green chillies, chopped 4 Fresh coriander leaves, chopped 1 cup + 2 tablespoons Salt to taste Soda bicarbonate, a pinch Turmeric powder 3/4 teaspoon Oil 4 tablespoons Dry coconut (khopra), grated 1/4 cup Poppy seeds (khuskhus/posto), roasted 1 tablespoon Coriander powder 1 tablespoon Ginger, chopped 1 inch piece Garlic 4-5 cloves Browned Onions 1/2 cup Black peppercorns 3-4 Cinnamon 1 inch stick Black cardamom 1 Bay leaf 1 Star anise 1 Mace 1 Tomatoes, chopped 2 medium Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon Tamarind pulp 1 tablespoon Garam masala powder 1 teaspoon

Combine gram flour, green chillies, one cup of chopped coriander leaves, salt, soda bicarbonate, quarter teaspoon turmeric powder and mix well. Add enough water to make a thick batter. Ensure that the consistency is not too thin. Pour the batter into a greased tray. Heat sufficient water in a steamer. Place the greased tray in the steamer and steam on high heat for fifteen to twenty minutes or till firm and cooked. Remove, cool and cut into one-inch cubes.For kalvan, dry roast khopra till lightly browned. Grind it along with poppy seeds, coriander powder, quarter teaspoon turmeric powder, ginger, garlic and browned onions to a smooth paste. Heat two tablespoons oil in a kadai. Add peppercorns, cinnamon, black cardamom, bay leaf, star anise and mace and sautĂ&#x2C6; for a minute. Add khopra paste, stir well and sautĂ&#x2C6; till dark brown. Add tomatoes, stir well and cook till soft. Add the remaining turmeric powder, red chilli powder and salt and stir well. Add tamarind pulp and mix well. Add garam masala powder and mix well.

Spinach and Cabbage Parantha INGREDIENTS Spinach, shredded 1 bunch Cabbage, shredded 1/4 medium Whole wheat flour (atta) 2 cups Gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup Salt to taste Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain) 1/2 teaspoon Green chillies, chopped 2-3 Oil 11 teaspoons Milk 1/4 cup

METHOD Place whole wheat flour atta and gram flour in a bowl. Add salt, red chilli powder, carom seeds, green chillies, cabbage, spinach, three teaspoons of oil and mix well. dough with damp muslin cloth and set aside for fifteen minutes.Divide into eight equal portions and roll out into thick paranthas of five to six inches in diameter. Heat a tawa, place a parantha on it and cook on one side for half a minute. Flip and drizzle half teaspoon oil all around the parantha and cook. Flip again and drizzle half teaspoon of oil all around again. Cook till both sides are evenly done. Similarly make the remaining paranthas. Serve hot with chhunda or with pickles, raita, chutney of your choice.
