Obesity alone costs the UK economy £27bn. Public Health England estimates that if the public were fully involved in managing their health and engaged in preventative activities it would save the NHS £30bn per year. But where do the public turn to take control of their health? A Google search of ‘health and fitness’ returns 960,000,000 hits of conflicting information, most of which is not academically endorsed or more importantly tailored to the needs of the individual. In addition, gym memberships and professional services are too expensive for a large proportion of the population.
