Block Schedule… 0 Period (OPTIONAL): 7:20 – 8:20 (Tuesday – Friday) Period 1 or 2: 8:30 – 10:05 Nutrition: 10:05 – 10:25 Period 3 or 4: 10:25 – 12:05 Lunch: 12:05 – 12:50 Period 5 or 6: 12:50 – 2:25 Support (7th period): 2:25 – 3:10


9 Grade Course Selections‌ th

All 9th grade students will take: 1. English I 2. Health /World Geography (semester of each) 3. Foundations of Science or Elective 4. Math (determined by MCMS) 5. PE or Interscholastic Athletic Activity 6. Elective: 1 year or 2 semesters


Elective Options… Technology and a Practical Skill (semester of each) Visual and Performing Art (year long) Foreign Language (year long): Chinese, American Sign Language, French or Spanish

PE Requirement  20 credits of PE are required for graduation  9th grade students who are participating in an Interscholastic Athletic Activity may be exempted from taking PE during the semester their activity takes place, but will earn no PE credit for their participation. This includes the following sports: Football, Tennis, Volleyball, X-Country, Golf, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Track & Field, Softball, Lacrosse, Drum Line, Marching Band, Cheer Team/Stunt, Dance Team and Color Guard.  If you are not planning to participate in an Interscholastic Athletic Activity in the 9th grade you must take PE I during your freshmen year.  Students who continue to participate in their Interscholastic Activity(s) in grades 10-12, may earn the 20 credits of PE through their participation.  All 9th grade students are required to take the California Physical Fitness Test (CPFT). Students who do not pass at least 5/6 CPFT, may not use their Interscholastic Athletic participation to satisfy the 20 PE credit requirement.  Students who do not pass 5 of the 6 tests in the 9th grade will be enrolled in a PE class in the 10th grade. Students who have not passed the CPFT may play sports but will not earn PE credit until they have passed the CPFT.  20 credits of PE are required for graduation

More Options… Zero Period  Optional  Meets Tuesday – Friday  7:20 – 8:20am  Must take 7 classes  Not necessary to fit in all classes

Study Hall  Recommended for student athletes  Must take “0” period  No credit
