Praise the Lord! OI China opened yet another new branch office in Siyang County of Suqian Municipality to serve the poverty stricken community on 2 July, 2012. Our Chairman, Mr Geoff Kells AM travelled all the way from Sydney, Australia for the grand opening ceremony.
The OI China 2012 Summer English Camp started on 9 July. This year we opened four classes to cover Hefei, Suyu, Shuyang and Huai’an cities and received 90 children between the age of 12 and 18. All teaching and training for the children of our clients are free of charge.

Praise the Lord for the provision of the new opportunity to serve the poor in Siyang County of Suqian Municipality, Jiangsu Province. Siyang is classified as one of the poverty-stricken counties by Jiangsu Government as it has over 50% of residents living below poverty line under the Chinese standard; i.e., less than US$ 1.00 a day. Major industries in Siyang include agriculture, aquaculture, timber plantation and veneer related wood works. OI China has developed new sets of products and services to cater for the needs of the local people. Thank God for the interns of 2012. While they are learning the microfinance trade in China they also volunteered to teach the children of our clients English and make the OI China 2012 Summer English Camp possible. May the Lord bless our interns and grant them a heart to serve in His Kingdom.

Pray for leadership and wisdom of the management of OI China. Pray for internal transformation of OIC. Pray for more co-workers. While OI China is growing in service we need more Christian professionals to join the service. Pray for our staff. The weather is hot and the journey is long. Our loan officers and investigators are serving clients in the field. May the Lord grant them comfort, health and cheerful attitude to bring joy to our clients and transform their lives.
