OI China PRAYER LETTER December 2013
“But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain." ~ 1 Cor. 15:37-38
Praise God for the visit of Australian donors and sponsors in November. Our chairman, Mr Geoff Kells AM invited his families and friends to visit OI China. They brought love, encouragements and cheerful songs to OI China. During the trip, they visited Shuyang, Siyang and Suyu branches and met with our clients, staff and local government officials.
Client Zhu Aiquan worked in a small barbershop in Shuyang for over 10 years. In 2012, as the local government demolished the buildings in his village he lost his job. After months of frustration he finally learned about OI China. He took a loan from OI China and quickly set up his own business. Aiquan treasures this opportunity because ever since he lost hearing at the age of 3 this is the first time that he was able to become independent and earned dignity.
Praises & Thanksgivings: Praise the Lord that after nine years of preparation, OI China is once again owned and supported completely by the Opportunity International Network. Mr Geoff Kells AM, chairman of OI China, said “praise God that after a lot of work the company restructuring has been completed and that funds for the Huai'an and Xuzhou licenses have been secured”. Thank God for His provision for Hefei operation. As the lease contract fell due our landlord took back the office. Thanks to our COO, Jensen Huang, who not only works for OI China on a voluntary basis but also invites us to move in to his factory with very big and fully furnished office at no cost. Praise God for the support of Jiangsu Government. While the government is determined to alleviate poverty in the region near Chengzi Lake, mayor of Siyang invites OI China to establish a sub-branch office in Gaodu Town to serve the local community. It is known that there are approximately 109,000 low income households in this area. The Government wants OI China to use its successful and famous business model to provide micro loans and training and coaching services to help the poor.
Prayer Requests: Pray that the new directors and the shareholders will quickly grasp the opportunity to build the work of the company in China to serve the poor through Growing Businesses; Creating Jobs; Transforming Lives.
