OI China PRAYER LETTER February 2009
The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. ~ Psalm 28:7 KJV
OIC Winter English Camp was successfully conducted during the school holidays in January 2009. A total of 33 children of our clients attended. In addition to English students also had the opportunity to learn about the culture of the west.
Client Mr Zhenwei LIU came to OIC in 2005 when he and his wife ran a small grocery delivery business. Ever since he took the loan and training courses from OI China his life was transformed. His business now employs 33 people and he is running three convenient stores (mini supermarket).
Praises & Thanksgivings: • Praise the Lord for the great result of the year 2008! All business units of OI China have an above break-even performance. In comparison to the performance of 2007, the loan business grew by 44.63%; Number of jobs created and maintained grew by 68.74% and the earnings grew by 85.53%. Majority of the growth were resulted from new products and services and the streamlining of operations. •
Give thanks to our Father for the fruitful results of the Winter English Camp held in Hefei during January. A total of 33 students, mostly children of our clients, attended the Camp. It was part of our service and a way to show the love and care of our Heavenly Father to the poor community.
•
Our heartfelt thanks to the brothers and sisters in Christ who responded to the sharing of Joseph and Ann in Taiwan recently. The donation and gifts will be applied to our rural support program in Hefei and Nanchang. May the Lord bless the donors and the farmers.
Prayer Requests: •
Pray for the returning migrant workers from Shenzhen, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Due to the world-wide financial crisis, many factories been shut down and workers lost their jobs. These migrant workers are returning to their homes in the rural areas with no direction or future plan. OIC is working closely with local authorities to prepare a community support program for them.
•
Pray for OIC and our clients for while the government and banks are tightening their control over lending policies in response to the financial tsunami, they also restricted our lending.
