OI China PRAYER LETTER January 2013
“Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven. ” ~ Matt. 5:13-16 (KJV) Thanks to our donors for the new OIC library. The new library, equipped with many wonderful Spiritual books, was given to the new Huai’an MCC in December. Employees of OI China are encouraged to borrow for themselves as well as for our clients.
Praises & Thanksgivings: •
Praise the Lord for the blessings of 2012. OI China finished the year with above break-even results. Total job impact of the year was 34,887 and total loan issued reached USD 8,848,143; that is, every USD 253 loan created and/or sustained one job. The micro-insurance business also grows steadily and reached 442 policies issued.
•
Thank God for the support of OI Network and OTI for the loans provided. With this loan OI China is able to continue serving the rural clients in Suqian and Huai’an and carrying on its mission.
•
Thank God for sending Mr Jensen Huang to serve as Chief Operating Officer of OI China. Mr Huang was a government official in the Anhui Provincial Government. He was assigned to manage financial services and State-owned businesses for the Anhui Province by the Finance Department for more than 20 years. After his retirement he started his own business in financial consulting and real estate investments for 8 years. Upon accepting Christ as his personal saviour recently Mr Huang gave up his own business and joined OIC in December, 2012. He is helping to localise the management of OIC.
Prayer Requests: •
•
Please pray for Mandy Sun, VP Finance of OI China. She has been sick since the beginning of this year complicated by her pregnancy. May the Lord take care of Mandy and give her health. Pray for the safety of Chunyun (travel during the Spring Festival period), when people travel homeward to celebrate Chinese New Year. It has been called the largest annual human migration in the world. The number of passenger journeys during the Chunyun period has exceeded the population of China, hitting over 2 billion since 2008.
