OI China PRAYER LETTER May 2011

"I will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old. I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings." ~ Psalm 77: 11 - 12 (KJV)

OI China opened a new branch operation, in Shuyang County on 8 April. During the Dedication Service Paul Heiss, director of OI China and chairman for OIHK, encouraged the five local staff of OI China, Shuyang, to set themselves apart and sanctify their work to serve and transform the lives of the community.

Mr Sun Suzhou, (3 from left) a returned migrant worker started his small toy workshop in his hometown, Suqian, in 2007. Until 2010 he was unable to grow the business to a scale due to shortage of funds. After taking a microloan from OI China he is now able to employ 292 local workers and expand the manufacturing facilities with umbrella making as well.

Praises & Thanksgivings: •

Praise the Lord for the expansion of OI China operation into Shuyang County in Jiangsu Province.

Thank God for His keeping and guidance, the first quarter of 2011 operation yielded an above break-even and sustainable result. An equivalent to USD 1.8 m worth of loans were issued and a total of 6,617 jobs were created/sustained in China; that is, every USD 275 worth of loan impacted one job.

Prayer Requests: •

Please continue to pray for the resources OI China urgently need for the growth and development of the operations, including financial and faithful co-workers.
