Praise the Lord that the 2014 OI China Internship Program completed with a happy note and we held a party before sending the interns home. The interns joined our staff to make Chinese dumplings for dinner and sang Karaoke in the Suyu office to celebrate the occasion.
Ms Zhong Yuehong struggled to take care of her young daughter when her husband left her few years ago. With OIC’s loan she can run a clothing factory and employ over 30 leftbehind women in rural Shuyang. In addition, Ms Zhong also volunteers to train apprentices through OI China’s Project Elisha and helps the unskilled women to get start a trade.
Praises & Thanksgivings: Praise the Lord for a fruitful and joyful summer. Both the 2014 OIC Internship Program and the collaboration program between OI China and Caterpillar on the Summer English Camp completed satisfactorily. The four interns were so good in learning and practicing micro loan operations. They all delivered wonderful results in the mid-term and graduation exams. Thank God for the lovely kids of the Summer English Camp. The 66 children of our clients were grateful that they are able to learn English in the summer in a fun environment. We also give our heartfelt thanks to the Caterpillar Foundation who made this year’s program even more colourful. Thanking God for the successful meeting with the Jiangsu Provincial Taxation Bureau chief, Mr Jiang, and his team. The meeting was held in Nanjing to present operation of OI China to the Bureau and thank them for granting special favourable policies and tax exemptions to OI China in recognition of the poverty alleviation results. Praise God for the successful delivery of the learning tour of the Jiangsu MCCs held in mid-August. The Jiangsu Government brought a group of leaders of 15 major micro-credit companies to visit OI China to learn from us about our “China Best Practice” in micro-credit operations.
