The Drumline weekend will feature two days of Workshops & Clinics for both directors and drumline students.
Day 1
DRUMLINE WORKSHOP will include an a ernoon of workshops for the drumline students which will feature informa on specific to hand and drumline movement, specifically to establish stronger drumline fundamentals at the entry and mid-levels.
Day 2
DIRECTOR’s CLINIC for directors keen to focus on aspects of marching percussion including design, rehearsal, and organiza onal strategies for running a successful programme.
WHO CAN ATTEND?
1. Directors with their Drumline students. Any standard welcome.
2. Directors are welcome to a end either or both days

Will need to bring their own instrument and lunch, snacks and drinks.

ABOUT GIFFORD HOWARTH
Dr Howarth was a judge for the Australian Drumline Compe on 2023. Dr. GIFFORD HOWARTH is currently Associate Professor of Percussion at Bloomsburg University located in Bloomsburg, PA. His previous teaching du es included teaching at Michigan State University and Nazareth College (Rochester, NY). Dr. Howarth has received degrees from Michigan State University (DMA), Kent State University (MM), and Ithaca College (BM). He has presented clinics and workshops throughout the United States, Canada, Asia, and Europe including Singapore, China, Thailand, The Netherlands, Sweden, and Malaysia. He has also presented at The Midwest Clinic in Chicago, The Percussive Arts Society Interna onal Conven on (PASIC), several MENC All-State Conferences and PAS Day of Percussion events. The focus for most of the workshops is geared around percussion educa on. Dr. Howarth is heavily involved in different compe ve marching ac vi es. He was on the percussion staff for the DCI group, THE CADETS from 1999 to 2006. Over the years he has wri en for several WGI, BOA, and DCA ensembles. He is currently a na onal adjudicator for DCI, WGI, and BOA along with several statewide marching band and indoor percussion circuits.
Dr. Howarth is a Na onal Yamaha Performing Ar st, a Signature Ar st for the Vic Firth Company, and a clinician for Remo Percussion and the Zildjian Cymbal Company. He has several works published through Tap Space publica ons.
