t least five local technical service providers have been penciled down for participation in the construction phase of the multi-billion dollar project for seventh train of the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG) Limited. The development came with the revelation that President Muhammadu Buhari has given the company express approval to drive its expansion plans from the current seven trains with 30 million tons per annum (mtpa) to as much as 15 trains. Africa/Nigeria Foundries, PCMN, I.O Furniture and EngRypac may have already been listed as companies that have developed capabilities to provide services to the liquefaction company on the project. Information gleaned from the public workshop on the Nigerian Content scope of the NLNG Train-7 project held in Abuja holds that the $7.0 billion or N2.52 trillion project offers huge opportunities for indigenous and foreign service firms that have in-country capacity for job delivery.
