ecent developments in the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Imo State seem to be exposing the underbelly of the party, indicating that despite that the acclaimed governorship candidate of the party, Senator Ifeanyi Araraume, has carried on with his campaigns ahead of the 2019 governorship election in the state, all is not well with the party. According to some top leaders of the party, since his controversial emergence as the governorship candidate of the party in Imo State, Araraume has divided the party, side-lining it in all his activities in relation to his campaigns. he Corruption Watch, a human rights organization, has called on the federal government to stop releasing council allocations to the Anambra State government until elections at that level government have been conducted and winners swornin in the state. National Coordinator of the group, Mr Chuks Ogbuka who addressed journalists in Nnewi, Anambra State yesterday said there was urgent need for the federal government to take a drastic action to compel Anambra and such other state governments that are not willing to conduct council polls to do so. He said that Anambra State governor, Chief Willie Obiano would be taking the people of the state for a ride if he failed to conduct local government election in the state as soon as possible in fulfillment of his second term campaign promise. Mr Ogbuka it was undemocratic and illegal for the governor to continue to govern Anambra state unilaterally without the input of democratically elected council officials, noting that non-conduct of council poll had led to uneven development of the 21 council areas in the State “whereas huge amounts of funds always come to Anambra from Federation Account for the council areas.” The human rights activist noted that his organization considered the practice as trampling upon the right of Anambra voters who had voted for the governor for a second tenure in the belief that the caretaker commit-
