Provides oral disease preventive services in school-linked settings Served 440,000 kids through 193 programs in 43 states during 2013-2014 school year Facilitated donation of more than 500,000 units of dental product Provided nearly $400K grants plus technical assistance to treatment partners On schedule to seal 2 million teeth by 2015 (5 years ahead of schedule)
Focused on the oral health needs of community-dwelling older adults and their caregivers Educates older adults/caregivers re: importance of oral health + connects with resources for care Tooth Wisdom: Get Smart About Your Mouth workshops in pilot

History of Text2Floss In 2011, A.T. Still University (ATSU) teamed with CellTrust Corporation, provider of the patented SecureSMS速 Platform, to devise a series of text message programs designed to reach, educate, and remind current patients and the underserved of our communities about preventive and ongoing initiatives of health and wellness.
•To compare a 7-day text
message intervention (Text2floss) vs. no message control to if text messaging can improve oral health knowledge and behavior in mothers of children aged 5 years and younger

Methods - Procedures •Eligible participants were •Randomly assigned to group receiving texts (TEXT group) or control group not receiving any texts
•Completed pre-intervention survey assessing knowledge and behavior •Subjects in TEXT group - added to the text2floss platform; would receive 2 text messages/day for 7-days
•
Text 1: “Did you floss yesterday?”
• Text 2: oral health/hygiene information after “no”/“yes” response to text 1 •All participants received an oral health pamphlet containing answers to the oral health knowledge questions
•~8 days later, all completed post-intervention survey by phone
