SPRING AWAKENS IN TUALATIN VALLEY

EXPLORE THE BEAUTY OF NATURE'S RENEWAL THIS SEASON

L.L. STUB STEWART STATE PARK

Spring is here and Oregon's Tualatin Valley is bursting with new life. From nature parks to fields of vibrant magenta clover, the colors of spring pop throughout the region.

The 68-acre Jenkins Estate on Cooper Mountain is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and offers nearly two miles of trails and estate grounds to roam.

Open daily from dawn to dusk, guests are welcome to take self-guided garden tours through the Estate’s beautiful rhododendron garden, perennial garden, numerous rock gardens, primrose path, herb garden, wildflower meadows and rose pergola.

As the largest and most diverse park in Hillsboro, Rood Bridge Park is an oasis for nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts, gardeners and photographers alike. The 61 acres of walking paths weave through wetlands adjacent to the Tualatin River–home to happy ducks and western pond turtles–and enchanting wooded areas–the perfect resting grounds for Pacific dogwood and native wildflowers.

L.L. Stub Stewart State Park in Buxton has more than 20 miles of natural surface trails to explore nature and take in the picturesque mountain views surrounding the park.

The Linear Trail, an easy 3.5-mile loop, features beautiful wildflowers growing along the trail. Spring is the ideal time to see these blooms blossom alongside the evergreen forest. The park is open daily from dawn to dusk and requires a $10 day-use fee to access.

Minutes from Downtown Forest Grove, Fernhill Wetlands encompasses more than 700 acres and is home to various wildlife including bald eagles, herons, otters and minks. Fernhill has over one million native wetland plants on site

which includes the beautiful blooms from shrubs like the flowering currant and mock orange, and flowering plants like the yarrow, camas and Oregon sunshine. Visitors can walk the 1-mile loop trail surrounding Fernhill Lake and enjoy sunny spring weather and the variety of colorful flowers along the trail. Open daily, dawn to dusk.

With well-loved and well-traveled trails, Beaverton’s Cooper Mountain Nature Park is a hot spot for wildflower lovers each spring. Along the park’s Little Prairie Viewpoint, hikers will not only be rewarded with views of the Chehalem Hills, but also hyacinth cluster lilies and western geraniums. Late-season loveliness comes in June with the blooming of white rock larkspurs.

Springtime offers a magical opportunity to immerse yourself in nature’s rebirth, where every step reveals a rainbow of blooming wildflowers. Tualatin Valley’s wildflower walks promise moments of awe, serenity and connection with the natural world— perfectly capturing the essence of spring.

For a literal elevated experience, Backwoods Brewing, which has a rooftop bar and restaurant, this brewpub serves exactly what you’d expect to pair with craft beers: burgers and tots. European-inspired foods, such as a grilled cheese made with brie and bratwurst, are available alongside tacos and bahn mi. The 16-tap beer menu features Mazama’s variety of European-style beers, including session, Belgian and dark brews.

Comfort foods meet brewpub staples at Golden Valley Brewery & Restaurant. The menu features pub faves, such as burgers and sandwiches, as well as steaks, pot roast and salads. Also on the menu are the brewery’s seasonal

and year-round beers, from lagers and blondes to IPAs and stouts.

The brewpub at FlyBoy Brewing features nine burgers, 10 pizzas and a vegan menu, featuring a burger, wrap and pizza. For little ones, its kids' menu has the usual fare: hot dogs, cheese pizza and chicken nuggets. Several of its craft brews are available from the 31-tap bar.
