NATIONAL HURLING CENTRE WIT Waterford
O’Reilly Concrete designed, manufactured and erected a complete precast structure for the Multipurpose Sports Hall which main part of the GAA National Hurling and Camogie Development Centre developed at the Waterford IT Sports Campus. The total are of the building is 6500 m2 and it includes for: • Main Sports Hall - 2000 m2, 10.5 m clear height, 3 basketball courts or equivalent • Gymnasium - 1000 m2 over two levels • Teaching Area - 1000 m2 over two levels • Support Accommodation and Circulation Area - 2500 m2 The overall height of the Main Hall walls is 15.50 m. Front elevation of the building has been made using precast insulated sandwich panels. There whole structure consists of approximately 700 precast elements including solid wall panels, insulated wall panels, precast columns and beams, pre-stressed hollow core floor units and precast concrete stairs. The on-site programme was 24 weeks.
