1.0 Research
Fiercely independent with a hedonistic spirit the Bright Young Things demanded to be heard in 1920’s Britain. This collective of multi-disciplinary creatives challenged conventions of the time with their ambitious attitude. The term Bright Young Things aligns with our student reputation as innovative and inspired game changers.
By capturing the essence of the Bright Young Things this campaign aims to reflect the spirit of this group of young artists and align with the ideals of inspired thinking with radical artistic endeavours with our own institution.
2.0 Concept
The spirit of the Bright Young Things lives on in Leeds College Our outcome is bold, bright and eye-catching. The typographic of Art. As a leading independent art college we cultivate response keeps a neutral tone in regards to the representation a fierce and strong identity with a progressive desire to of all our specialtist disciplines. experiment and break boundaries. Beyond our degree show we will be bold in our ambition in Our concept is positive and slightly rebellious in tone which artistic practice and chosen career paths, we will shine bright. celebrates the individualistic nature of our college.
3.0 Posters
Through the use of a bold typographic style, these posters communicate the core principles of our concept, they demand to be seen much like the aspirations of our graduating year.
A bright and obnoxious colour palette has been selected to reflect the nature of the Bright Young Things as referenced in our research into this group of determined young artists.
4.0 A6 Flyer
Additional brand collateral has been created to promote the show in the same style used in our posters to advertise the End of Year Show.
5.0 Private View
Private view invites for special guests of the End of Year Show continues with our brand identity to attract potential attendees and encourage RSVP.
6.0 Typography
The font that has been selected for the primary display typeface is Bebas Neue. This has been chosen for it’s bold and attention grabbing qualities. To reinforce the nature of our concept, the primary display face has been layered
and distorted to reflect the rebellious attitude that the Bright Young Things embodied. There is an air of movement to the typography which captures the fast-paced, adventurous spirit of our concept.
