COP3: Practical Peer Review Feedback

Page 1

Peer Feedback: Aaron Comment on the initial relationship between the Theme & proposed Subject? Are you wanting to employ the thought process of how children use visual/drawing as a language? Or use the children as an audience to make work for (narratives like Humpty Dumpty)? Or both? Feels like you are interested in free/loose drawing but are unsure of the context it will fit into. Comment on the appropriateness, scope & ambition of the proposed outcomes in relation to the subject. Big task to understand a child’s way of thinking so my advice would be to keep having fun with your loose drawing and use this as ‘experimental learning’. This way you won’t be limited by a narrative or existing characters. Comment on the visual investigation & development of ideas in response theme & subject? If you are struggling to underpin a context, maybe just use a day in the life of a child to give you visual references, you’re trying to understand them so I think you need to see things from their point of view... POV, Have fun with low angles & see what they see. Comment on the choice of media/formats/series etc. in relation to the outcomes. Your series is naturally developing and I can see your aims is to have fun with the media... which is the whole purpose as to why children explore art & craft. Very interesting topic and has a sense of humour and humility as you are trying to see how a child’s mind functions. General Comments: Great start! Clear presentation of research! Don’t forget it’s practical so keep drawing/ playing if you want to fill all your sketchbooks.

Peer Feedback: Rosie Comment on the initial relationship between the Theme & proposed Subject? - Clear idea between theme & subject. - Useful investigation.

- Sorry, I don’t have any, it seems to make a lot of sense. - Look into actual children’s drawings for further research?

Comment on the appropriateness, scope & ambition of the proposed outcomes in relation to the subject. - 7 Sketchbooks seems like a lot but if you can do each technique quickly it will produce some great research outcomes. - Would make a great final project.

-It seems a little ambitious to me but you could always shorten it further down the line. - If you do want to tackle all the processes maybe do a bit from each so you don’t run out of steam before getting to the last process.

Comment on the choice of media/formats/series etc. in relation to the outcomes. -Sketchbook investigation has used good media (plans) for quick investigation

-What media does your investigated techniques use? Maybe use those? -Your ink & digital looks good & I think it will be fitting for this.

General Comments: Q1: Yes, it all seems very clear to me. Q2: I think Humpty Dumpty would do well as the story isn’t the focus but adds structure & isn’t too long. Q3: Yes, I think so & even if you ran into difficulty it should make a good investigation.
