At the center of the “Circle of Reflection,” visitors can feel the protection of the first responders and the five branches of the armed forces, which are represented as six wedge-like shapes. Four of these wedges start at ground level at the periphery, rising up to four feet as the visitor walks toward the center, and are planted with desert-adapted, low water-use species. Two seating areas of the amphitheater are inverted, sloping inward and providing seating for gatherings and ceremonies. These seats face a central circular stage, showcasing public art and spectacular views of the Santa Catalina Mountains. A variety of vertical faces provide many fundraising opportunities such as inscription, plaques, and memorial tributes.
