Concept proposal for Masterplan and Development framework
Architects: KCAP, Rotterdam Location: Krasnogorsk, Moscow region, Russia Program: Masterplan on 9.4 ha; residential NFA 70.000 m2 , retail and services NFA 1.500m2 , primary school and day care Project Year: 2014 - present Status: Conceptual proposal for Masterplan and Development framework, Schematic design for Masterplan in progress 2
This concept aims to create a set of free-standing urban villa apartment blocks with roughly 6-7 units per floor. The goal is to maximise the feeling of spaciousness and openness around the buildings, providing excellent views to the surroundings. While this design provides less sellable area, the trade-off is a simple to phase, easy to construct and high-quality living environment. It avoids too many apartments facing directly into another apartment.

Redevelopment of Uktus neighbourhood Masterplan, schematic design
Architects: KCAP, Rotterdam Location: Yekaterinburg, Russia Program: Masterplan and firstphase architecture for 80 ha residential area with 10.000 new residences (435.000 m2 GFA), 65.500 m2 commercial program and facilities and three kindergartens with in total 4600 m2 Project Year: 2013 - present Status: Schematic design for masterplan
The historic location where Yekaterinburg was born is gradually up to renewal. The Uktus area will in the nearby future be densified intensively. This strategic location in the city is providing opportunities for connecting the city centre better with the surroundings like the Uktus Mountains. The area will become a unique place, which cannot be found elsewhere in the world. Locally the masterplan celebrates green links with facilities and the partly rediscovered waterfronts.

ROOMS: The first tool we propose in order to structure the site is a series of rooms: a composition of small scale common spaces distributed throughout the campus. PLUGS: Constellation of large scale public spaces directly connected to the river WALS: The walls are represented by the housing units that form a northern front countering the edge of the city at the south of the project site. Their disposition contributes to activate the central part of the masterplan ensuring a constant flow of people from one side to the other.

We worked on two projects to compare the potential of redevelopment of the site in Paris and reveal extreme points of individual and collective pattern of social organization and how it can influences on new settlement formation in Tabula Rasa project . As a final product we made the movie and we published the book with research report.

The site is part of an industrial area that will be transformed in a mixed residential and commercial neighbourhood. The site currently serves as a parking lot and logistic centre. The building volumes are arranged around a spacious and well lit courtyard. This courtyard will act as an interior oasis in the large scale, vast and undefined urban context. Having a height restriction of 45 meters, the highest part contains 13 levels. The first floor houses commercial space and entrance lobbies of the hotelapartments. The higher levels consist of hotel-apartments. An underground parking is situated under part of the commercial spaces and the landscape. дата / date: 28-05-2014

In the last 20 years Russian towns and cities have been undergoing a period of de-industrialization: old factories in industrial towns have been closing down while new ones have yet to spring up in their place. This presents serious problems for urban planning: Russia today has many towns and cities in which factories that were formerly the core of a place’s development are now at a standstill and constitute disused and ruined urban space. Industrial zones can occupy up to a third of the territory of a town or city and their current condition has a depressive influence on the environment and inhabitants.

The contemporary headquarters as an extension of the city Rosneft’s Moscow… How to impact the city? The future Rosneft Headquarters (HQ) will be the new neighbour within an existing context, along an incredible sight overlooking the Moscow River. With a heritage of industrial developments set within the natural framework, this site works as a large landscape plateau with direct views to the surrounding iconic projects along the waterfront, including Moscow City to the west and Hotel Ukraine to the east.
VTB Arena Park - Renovation of Sport Complex Dynamo International Invited Competition. Shortlisted
Architects: SPEECH, GMP Location: Moscow, Russia Area: Stadium for 50.000 spectators Project Year: 2010 Status: International Invited Competition
The new VTB ARENA PARK creates a landmark building for sports, entertainment and shopping. Two iconic, convex and concave building volumes, representing stadium and arena are connected by retail program. The existing stadium facade as a protected historical monument represents and reminds the history of the Dynamo football club.
Each element of the program can be used as mono function or all together as multipurpose facilities. Project proposes the possibility to increase visitor’s capacity from 35.000 to 45.000 or 50.000 spectators, to achieve FIFA semi-final world cup or UEFA final European cup standard (100% of all new FIFA world cup stadiums worldwide from 2002 to 2014 are bigger than 40.000 spectators). All aspects of multipurpose functioning of stadium and arena after a major event are taken carefully into consideration. All operational standards of NBA (basketball), IIHF (ice-hockey), ITF (Tennis) and concerts are incorporated into design.
