MingFeng Introduces Biomass Composites, Products By Aaron Thom, Senior Designer
Trinseo, a global supplier of plastics for consumer electronics, has seen the industry evolve from traditional PCs and big screen TVs to portable devices and electronic wearables. Now there’s a growing demand for sustainable, environmentally-friendly materials, and Trinseo is meeting this need head-on with its EMERGE™ ECO Advanced Resins – a portfolio of polycarbonate (PC) and PC/ABS resins that contain up to 95 percent post-consumer recycled (PCR) content. PCR content is the scrap or waste from consumer applications that is reclaimed, reprocessed and used again in new applications. With its EMERGE ECO series, Trinseo has mastered the process of combining virgin and PCR content to achieve the exact properties needed for an application. This includes ultra-bright white and transparent options – both difficult to achieve with material other than virgin content. According to Trinseo, since its start with PCR materials nearly a decade ago, the company has overcome numerous challenges such as considerations of PCR feedstock
MingFeng is known for its intelligent designs and its manufacturing of eco-friendly packaging. Now we have taken the next step by introducing biomass composites and products into our offering. Biomass composites are essentially organic substances which are combined with a bio-base. The two principal features of biomass composites are that they are produced by utilizing organic substances and that at the end of their functional lifetime as a product, they can be broken down, as they are either partially or completely degradable, according to the composite. We use grains, fibers, husks and organic products to form pellets. These can then go through extrusion, co-extrusion or injection processes to produce packaging and other very useful commodities. Smart Parents Stay Ahead of the Weather By Kari Strenfel, AcuRite Meteorologist
As a meteorologist and an active mom with two young kids, I need to stay informed of the outdoor weather conditions to maintain our active lifestyle. Whether we are biking to the park, headed out on a family hike, or keeping it simple by playing in the backyard, I need to stay updated on the outdoor conditions year-round. Living in the San Francisco Bay Area, we can get outside mostly every weekend. In the summer, I need to keep an eye on those high temperatures: a family hike is fun at 8 a.m. when it’s still 60 degrees Fahrenheit outside, but not so fun when it reaches 80 degrees Fahrenheit by 10 a.m. Even in the winter
when it rains, we like to know how much rain we got overnight to decide if it’s a good day for puddle jumping! I rely on the AcuRite Atlas™ weather station that I mounted on my roof to stay updated on the changing weather conditions. With the weather station reporting to the AcuRite Access™, which is plugged into the router, all the weather data is reported to My AcuRite. This allows me to check the weather conditions from anywhere from the My AcuRite app on my smartphone. I also have enabled alerts in My AcuRite to notify me of any potentially dangerous conditions, such as outdoor temperature above 95 degrees or lightning detected

TPMS: Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems By Augustin Leung, Vice President, CUB Elecparts, Inc.
Flat tires, nobody likes them. Blow outs, even worse. Uneven tire wear, costly and inconvenient. Good driver practices and tire pressure monitoring systems help better the situation. A tire blow-out costs not only the tire, the inconvenience, potential body damage and wheel damage, but possibly a loss of control which could have a devastating outcome. Most blow-outs occur because the tire is underinflated, or overloaded, both causing the tire temperature to rise beyond its working range and ultimately failing.
Passenger vehicles have had federal requirements to install them since late 2007. This means that nearly everyone on the road shouldn’t have a good reason to have a blowout. Then why does it still happen? The primary reason for continued tire failures is typically a malfunctioning or misfunctioning TPMS system. “TPMS sensors typically need to be replaced every three years and are recommended to be replaced before they fail,” states Andy Tseng, ITM’s TPMS Director. “During tire changes is ideal as the additional labor is minimal.” ITM TPMS sensors are available to
Here’s how it works: First, a business sends a mailpiece to a prospective customer. This might be retargeted direct mail, triggered based on a customer’s online interaction with the brand, or any other mail campaign.
After the mail is sent, it is scanned at a Post Office™ facility and entered into the Informed Visibility tracking system. When the mailpiece reaches its intended destination area, the final scan alerts the sender on their Informed Visibility dashboard that the mail is out for delivery. With this valuable data, marketers can coordinate complementary digital campaigns to connect with customers on multiple channels. The service makes omni-channel campaigns easier to plan and execute. Deploying digital marketing at the optimal time based on mail delivery data improves the effectiveness of each indi-
vidual touchpoint. Plus, additional exposures can make marketing messages resonate more effectively with potential customers. Marketing campaigns work better together. They can deliver a stronger impact and higher value to customers and streamline internal processes for more measurable results and returns. The Informed Visibility feature is one of many powerful innovations that USPS has developed to help businesses strengthen their marketing. reliant on them. The same learning process applies to collision repairers, where the tolerances for sensor placement need to be precise to not only calibrate the sensors, but to ensure they are performing to the safety specifications as the OE intended. Automotive design has evolved rapidly in the past decade, not just the ADAS components. In order to address government mandated fuel economy standards and improve safety, manufacturers have moved towards aluminum bodies versus steel. This reduces vehicle weight, improves energy absorption, and larger crush zones that fold more predictably. Due to this physical change in construction, vehicles involved in collisions often
experience structural movement in the upper body beyond the frame. Structural movement in the upper body can impact the positioning of an array ADAS, including forward collision warning (FCW), lane departure warning (LDW), lane keeping assist (LKA), blind spot monitoring (BSM), rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA) and adaptive cruise control (ACC). Many of these sensor mounts have a +/- 1mm tolerance in order to calibrate and function appropriately, especially in instances where it must read objects in the distance for collision avoidance. As ADAS systems become more prevalent and advanced, accurate blueprinting during collision repair is crucial to the integrity of the vehicle and calibration of sensors back to OE standards. The absence of proper and precise measuring tools leads to highly subjective damage assessments which are often made based
on opinions and guess work. The Matrix Wand uses a simple, straightforward process to assist collision professionals, automotive manufacturers and insurance providers in repairing vehicles to ensure the safety and functionality is restored as the OE intended following a collision. The 3D structural diagnostics provided by the wand lead to minimal vehicle teardown and ensure accurate estimates to reduce supplements while increasing efficiency throughout the repair process. The Fenderbolt software, powering the Matrix Wand, integrates the Mitchell Reference Database to compare points to factory specifications. Calculations from the wand and its software are accurate within +/- 1mm, assuring precision repairs and calibration of ADAS systems.
usage habit that polling has consistently shown to be widespread – can result in noise-induced hearing loss, an irreversible condition. Otherwise, as very young children have come to be tech users, a newer worry has arisen about the impact of that usage on the development of their speech and language skills. Engagement in conversation – a critical way of fostering that development – may be taking a back seat to tech use. When ASHA did national polling of parents of children 0-8, they reported a lessening in conversation at

Accuracy Is Safety in a World of Millimeters In 2018, 92.7 percent of consumer vehicles produced included at least one Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) feature. ADAS technologies are designed to improve the convenience and safety of driving by warning the driver that a crash is imminent or by temporarily automating certain aspects of vehicle control such as acceleration, braking or steering. As these technologies become more available to motorists, they have the potential to reduce rates of crashes, injuries and deaths on roadways. There is still a learning curve for consumers, and the full potential realized by these technologies won’t occur until drivers understand how to use them as intended and avoid becoming over-

language pathologists have shared their expertise; article placements and posts; and Twitter parties and Facebook Live! broadcasts. However, the message of safe usage stills needs to be spread: The World Health Organization estimates unsafe use of popular tech is contributing to 1.1 billion young people around the world being at risk of noise-induced hearing loss.
Boost Omni-Channel Marketing Using Informed Visibility Data When researching a possible purchase, consumers are known to use a mix of online and offline channels. In response, businesses are beginning to expand their tactics to reach consumers where they are, on- and offline. But beyond just reaching customers on both digital and direct media channels, marketers must also synchronize and align campaign exposures to encourage action at the optimal time. With supportive technology, such as the Informed Visibility® feature from the U.S. Postal Service®, businesses can

home. In short, unless habits change, a portion of the public may eventually acquire hearing loss or experience stunted speech and language skills – conditions that can hinder one in key respects academically, in the world of work and socially, and harm one’s quality of life overall. This is why for more than a decade, ASHA spread the word about safe usage through a wide variety of tactics: safe listening concerts in schools around the country; nationally disseminated PSAs; numerous media interviews in which ASHA member audiologists and speech-

Quiet Mark Recognizes Hushed Appliances By Lorrie Baumann
Quiet Mark is a certification program that rewards consumer products that do their part in combating noise pollution. “It's a consumer champion award for solutions to noise issues,” said Poppy Szkiler, the certification program's Founder. “We're on digital overload. It's never been a more important time to surround ourselves with sounds that calm us, rather than ones that induce stress.” The certification is a project of the Noise Abatement Society, a nonprofit United Kingdom organization founded in 1959 by Szkiler's grandfather, who recognized that the noise and commotion caused by World War II hadn't entirely disappeared when the war ended. “He was being driven bonkers by it,” Szkiler said. “So, he took action and set about lobbying Parliament about the issue.” As a result of his efforts, Britain's Parliament passed the Noise Abatement Act in 1960, and the Noise Abatement
Society turned some of its attention to other ways of working on the problem of noise pollution, including efforts to reward industry success in noise abatement. “Industries had invested millions in noise abatement, so they were supportive of some recognition,” Szkiler said. “It was immediately a great success.” Since then, the program has begun to spread from the UK to the United States. Leadership for the parent organization was passed down to Szkiler's mother after the death of her father and then Szkiler herself heard the call to the mission. “I had an epiphany when I was 30. I wanted to make a change in the world,” she said. “With Quiet Mark, our family passion for widespread wellness and noise abatement comes from the decades of knowledge we have on the subject.” Quiet Mark has partnered with the Good Housekeeping Institute to do the acoustic testing on home appliances that want a Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval. “As a third party, what we're

In its testing, Quiet Mark compares the noise made by an appliance with the noise levels produced by other appliances in the same product category. Testing verifies manufacturer claims about noise produced by the appliance as it's actually used in the home. The organization has data bases for more than 45 product categories ranging from microwave ovens to immersion blenders, mixers and stick vacuum cleaners. In order to get the Quiet Mark seal, appliances must test in the quietest one-third of similar products. “What we would love to do is bring the testing over the next few months to retailers, in order to increase sales of the quietest products. That way, retailers would know which are the quietest products,” Szkiler said. The Quiet Mark organization is currently publicizing the issue of household noise and the existence of the certification in the U.S. with the introduction of its Quiet Mark badge for the U.S. market. Appliances that qualify for the certification will be allowed to use the badge on or on the stovetop. A chicken breast, for instance, takes 15 minutes to cook in a hot pan on the stovetop. Bottled Water You Taste Through Your Nose By Lorrie Baumann
SZENT is a new brand of bottled water with a twist ― a scent ring affixed to the neck of the bottle that's infused with natural oils carry the aroma of natural flavoring to the drinker's nose. What's actually inside the bottle is just water purified by reverse osmosis ― all the flavor is in the scent ring. “What you're ingesting is the water,” said Maddie Grandbois, SZENT's Chief Creative Officer and one of the three company co-Founders. “Your brain believes that you're getting a hit of flavor, but you're not ingesting any flavor, any artificial ingredients. We're not adding anything to our water.” The company was launched in October of 2018 after four years’ worth of research and development looking into
ways that they might be able to disrupt the beverage category. “It took a group of people outside that industry to shake it up. We were able to think about the beverage category in a different way,” Grandbois said. “We were looking for a product that had flavor, but we didn't want to compromise.” While they wanted their beverage to have authentic flavor, the partners were dubious about the 'natural flavors,' they were finding on the market, which seemed somehow less than natural to them. Then they thought about the widely observed phenomenon that much of what we taste when we eat food ― perhaps as much as 75 percent to 90 percent, although around 80 percent is the figure most used ― actually derives from olfaction. Some neurophysiologists believe it's possible that only about 5 per-

When quieter products are identified for them, it will play an important part in their purchasing decisions,” Szkiler said. “Products carrying the Quiet Mark, a label identifying a product as being quietest in category, are now highly desirable,” she said. “There are so many layers of noise that we have to cope with throughout our daily lives, but so many consumers are still unaware that they can choose to buy quieter products.” She's hoping that attention to the issue can even encourage manufacturers to think about ways that they can turn consumer perception of noise from an irritant into part of a supportive environment. “If we know that there are harmonics that support health, could we design with this knowledge in mind for future appliances?” she asks. “We are entering a new era of design with sound. Sound seems to bleed everywhere and we need to critically think about the creative possibilities of sound that will support our lives.”

cent of what we experience when we're eating is actually coming from our sense of taste. That being the case, SZENT's partners decided to capitalize on the phenomenon by supplying aroma rather than ingredients in their bottled water. The scented ring is infused with natural oils and remains around the bottle's neck after the cap is removed. “Every time you take a sip of water, we can channel that sensory experience by using the sense of smell,” Grandbois said. “Any flavor you experience is coming through your nose.” SZENT launched its product on Amazon in October, 2018 with still water in the bottles and scent rings with five flavors around their necks: Passionfruit, Tangerine, Tropical, Pineapple and Mint. SZENT is currently offering the still water varieties in 20-ounce single-serve bottles packaged in a case of 12 that retails for $24. Single bottles retail at $2.25 apiece. “It's been really fun. It's a blessing and a curse to be first to market,” Grandbois said. “It's really exciting, but you have to carry the weight of consumer education.”

Innovating to Enhance the TSA Pre✓ Experience The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Science and Technology Directorate (S&T) Apex Screening at Speed program pursues transformative research and development (R&D) activities that support a future vision for increasing aviation security effectiveness from curb to gate while dramatically reducing wait times and improving the passenger experience. To enable this vision, Screening at Speed, in conjunction with the Transportation Security Administration’s (TSA) Innovation Task Force, is soliciting ideas for passenger self-screening technologies to help transform the TSA’s PreCheck concept of operations. Just like self-checkout at grocery stores, self-tagging checked baggage or automated teller machines, many patrons prefer an experience that they can complete all by themselves, at their
own pace. Screening at Speed is exploring ideas for using similar concepts to help expedite the passenger screening process. S&T would like to collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions that will: enable a self-sufficient experience in the passenger screening process; allow for passenger on-person and accessible property screening to occur in a single step, compared to the two distinct steps that exist at airports today; enable passengers to directly receive screening alarm information in real-time so they can try to resolve alarms themselves (i.e., remove a coat or a belt) to reduce instances where a pat-down/secondary screening procedure would be necessary; allow passengers to complete the screening process more quickly; and maintain or improve the current security posture at the airport checkpoint.
VideoAmp Partners with TiVo To further advance its practice of commingling TV viewership data from Smart TVs (ACR) with the same from cable and satellite set-top boxes, VideoAmp is partnering with TiVo. The expanded data set extends VideoAmp’s TV Viewership data pool to cover 25 million devices in 19 million U.S. households and gives marketers and media owners sophisticated cross-screen media planning, measurement and optimization capabilities, bolstered by device-level viewership data and audience insights from participating multichannel video programming distributors (MVPDs), TV and DVR manufacturers. VideoAmp uses commingled TV viewership data to map households to privacy-protected digital identity and
advertising exposure data to model a nationwide, cross-screen audience that brings transparency, liquidity and accountability to the media and marketing ecosystem. For marketers, this makes it easy to effectively target, engage and measure audiences. For media owners, this makes it easy to analyze and assess audiences, to optimize yield across screens holistically. “This new relationship with TiVo will allow our data to cover a huge number of households and devices, giving marketers and media owners the opportunity to leverage this crucial insight as they come under increased pressure to show value for marketing dollars,” says Randy Laughlin, Senior Vice President of Business Development at VideoAmp.
TECH R&D Broadens Injury Application Angle for Uni-Seal Repair Product TECH’s R&D team has been actively pursuing parent company TRC’s 4r vison, to create and extract value from materials formerly considered to be at the end of their usable life. TECH’s R&D team took this vision to heart by altering the materials and process utilized in the manufacture of its one-piece Uni-Seal truck and passenger
car repair products. By increasing the injury and repair angle from 25 degrees to 35 degrees, it greatly increases the number of tires that are able to be repaired verses scrapped, thus keeping them on the road and out of landfills. According to TECH’s Vice President of Technology Bill Johnson, “We were confident that with slight modifications
Car Bench: Big World Solutions from a Family-Owned Business Car Bench was founded in Massa, Italy in 1967 with the idea of making vehicle repair safer, easier and faster. The Pietrelli family has for over 50 years held true to these philosophies. Car Bench was the first company to make a bench with lift capabilities. In 1979, Car Bench was the first to create and manufacture universal jigs. Today, it
is the only manufacturer that can claim to work not only with the OEMs at the prototyping and manufacturing level, but the collision repair industry as well. So, when it says that it is built on a Car Bench and it’s fixed on a Car Bench, it means it. Today that dedication to development continues with its state-of-the-art
Consumer Electronics Daily News DHS S&T issued a solicitation for solutions that may be rapidly developed to detect threat items hidden on passengers in a way that reduces the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) engagement that is a normal part of the current screening process. The objective would be to create passenger friendly, intuitive screening while improving security, accelerating the passenger experience and reducing patdown rates. Potential solutions may take advantage of the natural motions of passengers combined with existing screening methods such as walk-through metal detectors and/or millimeter wave. The goal is to achieve a thorough inspection for any concealed items and provide near realtime feedback to the passenger if additional action is necessary. The passenger will only be allowed to leave the station once they have been cleared. If an alarm cannot be resolved through passenger
self-screening, a TSO may be needed to assist. “TSA PreCheck is already one of our most innovative products, improving the travel experience for enrolled travelers,” said Kelli Ann Burriesci, TSA Assistant Administrator for Enrollment Services and Vetting Programs. “We’re going to keep moving forward toward the next generation of the TSA PreCheck experience.” “To move forward to the next generation of the TSA PreCheck experience, significant innovation is necessary,” said Dr. John Fortune, Apex Screening at Speed Program Manager. “DHS S&T and TSA are excited about working with industry to accelerate, pilot, and quickly deploy new ideas to deliver leap forward solutions to airports nationwide.”
“We are excited to be working with VideoAmp to pioneer the future of television and cross-screen video advertising,” said Walt Horstman, SVP/GM Data and Advertising, TiVo. “We believe our nationally-representative, highly-accurate viewership data enables unified planning, activation and measurement for all. Together, we hope to dramatically improve the advertising experience across screens.” “CIMM has long supported integration of Set-top Box data with Smart TV data to enable a more holistic view of the television audience universe and mitigate the limitations inherent in both data sets by combining the two,” says Jane Clarke, Chief Executive Officer and MD of The Coalition For Innovative Media
Measurement (CIMM). “We welcome the efforts by VideoAmp to advance such integration and help bring media buyers and sellers a step closer to the larger and more complete data samples needed for true cross-platform measurement.” VideoAmp’s sophisticated data modelling empowers ecosystem parties to bridge the silos between TV, OTT and digital video. The resulting unified VideoAmp household currency makes it easier to value, buy and sell cross-screen audiences.
to the chemical composition of materials and our manufacturing process we could increase the application of our Uni-Seal product.” The TECH R&D team conducted rigorous road wheel testing with overloaded tires for over 240 hours using the TECH’s in-house endurance test protocol. In addition, it conducted FMVSS-139 tests with each tire. Each test tire had multiple injuries, all of which were at a minimum of 35

SecuGen’s Ultra-Compact, High Quality Fingerprint Reader, Hamster Pro 10 By Jeff Brown, Vice President of Sales, SecuGen Corporation
What is Hamster Pro 10? The Hamster Pro 10 is a sleek and ultraslim USB fingerprint reader. It is the slimmest and most compact of SecuGen’s line of fingerprint scanners. Despite an attractive low price, it is FBI certified for high image quality called for by FIPS 201 PIV and Mobile ID FAP 10 environments. As our customers expect, the Hamster Pro 10 is another high-quality fingerprint reader. Inside the Hamster Pro 10, we completely re-engineered and patented an innovative fingerprint module that makes it the smallest FAP 10
optical sensor in the industry that also meets the stringent image quality standards of the FBI. The clean, low-profile design of the case of the Hamster Pro 10 is a ‘tour de force’ unlike any of its predecessors, and our partners love the new product.
How do I work with it? The Hamster Pro 10 is compatible with a range of SecuGen’s free software development kits that allow developers to create applications for use on Windows, Linux and Android. We also offer SDK plugins for other environments that are compatible with Hamster Pro 10, including Microsoft Remote Desktop and Citrix.
Murata: Spotlight On Batteries An interview with Jin Park, Business Development Manager – Murata’s Battery Group.
CEDN: Batteries are relatively new to the Murata line-up. How did that come about?
JP: Three years ago, we announced our intent to enter into a binding agreement with Sony to transfer its battery business, which first entered the market in 1990. That deal closed in 2017. Since then, we have been focused on integrating that unit into Murata and defining the strategic direction, competitive differentiators and value propositions. The goal is to pursue the opportunities that will cement our global leadership position in the rechargeable battery market.
CEDN: What are you seeing in the battery market?
JP: Similar to other parts of the electronics industry, the number of items that use batteries has skyrocketed. Twenty years ago, they were relegated almost exclusively to laptops and phones. Today, batteries are ubiquitous – from insulin pumps to drones, smart meters to tire pressure monitoring systems, vacuums to power tools – the list is massive. The proliferation of healthcare, IoT, vehicle electrification and energy storage system applications are driving the unprecedented demand. Given Murata’s comprehensive range of components already within these sectors, our battery solutions are a natural extension of the value that we
Tech Employees Grow Mindful About Healthy Tech Usage Awareness has grown over the years for the need for safe and thoughtful usage of popular technology, and tech workers are some of the most conscientious about their digital habits. Whether it’s aimless scrolling, reflexive phone-checking or even marathon gaming, thoughtless usage of popular technology is not the way to spend time, according to industry insiders attending last year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Mindfulness –
that is, purposeful, thought-out usage of tech – was a common piece of advice from surveyed attendees. The American Speech-LanguageHearing Association (ASHA) surveyed CES attendees last January about tech use. The 180 respondents, most of whom worked in the tech industry, answered open-ended questions about their efforts to manage their tech time and practice healthy use of technology. Respondents warned against using
Cyber Garage Management System Is your collision center running without a management system? That could be risky, as every business, no matter how small or big, requires a management system, especially in these times. Businesses have evolved to be more complicated than what it used to be and as such, you require a competent and up-to-date management system for your business if you wish to survive the competition in the marketplace. Moreover, the cost of management systems has become very
affordable in today’s market. So, what is stopping you? Having a management system can actually save you money when it comes to improving production and labor efficiency. A management system allows for electronic communication to vendors and customers and offers real-time update status notifications to customers. A management system can increase your customer satisfaction index, and displays your company’s financial position in real
Consumer Electronics Daily News If you’re not a developer, you can use the Hamster Pro 10 right out of the box with Windows Hello for convenient fingerprint login to Windows 10 computers.
What does this say about us? We are continually expanding our product line in response to the requirements of our partners. Our focus is, and has always been, to design and deliver products that can help our partners succeed in the marketplace. The Hamster Pro 10 continues this focus as the demand remains for high quality optical fingerprint scanners that are thinner and more compact than ever before.

CEDN: What are Murata’s battery offerings?
JP: Our battery line-up consists of three key products: lithium-ion batteries, energy storage systems and micro batteries. In the past, we were focused primarily on consumer devices. That has since shifted to delivering our battery offering to the industrial market and the myriad of applications within that area. CEDN: What’s the value proposition?
JP: Two words: safety and reliability. What customers receive in a Murata battery – quality, technological superiority, training and engineering support – is unsurpassed. The stakes for using a lesser product are far too high. The market collectively knows this and trusts in our

CEDN: What else do readers need to know?
JP: An entrepreneurial mindset is embedded within Murata’s battery group. We focus on collaborating with customers – emerging start-ups and large companies alike – from development through commercialization. We are nimble yet have an extensive product portfolio that we leverage and deep global resources at our fingertips. That means we can focus on the innovation side of the equation and take on applications that are outside of the traditional focus – something that other value-added manufacturers are not able to do.

tech for “passing time” or “as a means of self-indulgence and gratification.” Mindful usage was stressed, with the assertion that “tech should be a tool.” Balance and moderation were also popular recommendations. In addition, many respondents said they are taking steps to manage their own tech time, or at least plan to do so. Methods reported included daily hour limits, time monitoring apps, or just personal habits that promote other activities over tech use. The importance of self-discipline was mentioned repeatedly in survey answers. Thoughtful tech use that discourages

A common misperception regarding recycled resins, says Trinseo, is that material with recycled content will be less costly since its content is partially used material. Recently Trinseo engaged thinkstep, a sustainability consulting, software and data organization, to perform lifecycle analysis on its EMERGE ECO Advanced Resins compared with virgin materials. Parameters evaluated were EMERGE ECO grades vs. virgin resins relative to the difference in carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions and the difference in water and energy consumption. In all cases, Trinseo PCR-containing resins had a reduced environmental impact.
