KNHR: You’re known for your textiles, but you actually work in quite a few other materials, correct?

CM: Yes, we’ve expanded into multiple d i f f e r e n t a r e a s i n c l u d i n g s i l i c o n e , ceramics and melamine to name a few It’s been a lot of fun for us to create and build off this There’s been a lot of interest from our private label customers

KNHR: Your company is also known for the flair of your visuals. Can you tell us a bit about the inspiration there? How do you come up with ideas?

C M : I t ’ s p r e t t y d i v e r s e P a r t o f o u r design team is based in Prague, and they do a lot of scouting of Euro trends that might play well with our markets here They are seeing things that we might not see here until next year. That puts us right where we want to be in

KNHR: How would you describe that “twist”?

CM: A lot of it is in the d e t a i l s Q u a l i t y i s important to us Take a t r a d i t i o n a l w a f f l eweave towel: it has to be cotton It has to be absorbent. It must feel g o o d w h i l e y o u ’ r e using it.

KNHR: The past few years have had both challenges and opportunities for our industry How’s it been going for your team?

CM: It’s the simple things that carry us through. We’ve all had an education in disruption these past few years. Early on, MÜkitchen made a business decis i o n t o f o c u s o n o u r s u p p l y c h a i n , which for us means from design to c o n s u m e r A s i t t u r n s o u t , t h a t approach was the right one We invested early in our supplier relationships because we wanted to ensure a high quality of execution in manufacturing our products. Turns out, we made the right decision. Those relationships still stand strong today.
