ON ‘23 what is LEDCON?

LEDCON stands for Leadership Education District Conference. An annual Key Club conference held by the district board, LEDCON has a new theme each year; this year’s theme was Service

Under the Sun! The biggest parts of the conference included elections for staff positions, speakers, forums, contests, award presentations, and games! Essentially, we were reflecting and celebrating the past Key Club year while gearing up for the next one. It’s an exciting and enriching experience. There were boundless opportunities to meet new people, even from a different state! You can even get some pins and patches to take back home. There were endless opportunities for you to interact with others and make life-long memories at the conference!

WANT EXTRA HOURS? ARTICLES Write a 300-400 word essay about anything Key Club related. If you’re out of ideas, visit the T-O website at tokeyclub.com to look at the prompts for this month. You can also find the rubric on there. Articles go towards our Key Club’s points, so they are greatly appreciated! Yours even has the chance of being featured on this newsletter or the Tex-O-Key newsletter. Happy writing! articles 14 1-2 up to volunteer hours

My LEDCON experience was enjoyable especially since it was my first time going. It was fun hanging out with my friends and fellow officers. I also had a good time at some of the fun forums I went to. I liked trying new things such as the dance

room and origami; the karaoke room was also very entertaining. The informational forums were very helpful as well since I was able to learn how to do my job as secretary more efficiently. I will definitely be using everything I have learned to help our Key Club. I did not participate in any of the contests or competitions this year, but after hearing more about them and watching some of them, I would like to compete in some contests next year. Also, our members and club winning some awards were really exciting. I am very proud of our president, Caia Hernandez, and editor, Tiffany Lam; they did an amazing job in their competitions! Hopefully next year we will be able to win more awards and competitions. Overall, it was a very fun experience and I cannot wait for next year’s LEDCON.
