This article is going to be about the history of transport analyzing many important aspects that opened the process to connect Bogotรก with different towns and then with the world. Also we are going to present the evolution that it has been from the beginning to present. Including time lapses, how the government and companies collaborated to create nowadays the transport that more than 990 million people use in Bogotรก times a year. And also some moments in history that affect the transport in the city.

On the other hand we are going to explore the different points of view from people that daily use public transport to people that use private transport. Recognizing the public transport problems and private but also identifying positive aspects of transport in Bogotรก. As well the impact of the society and the economy that are related.

The history of public transport in Bogotรก has been marked by periods in which the form of mobilization has been transformed little by little. Issues such as vehicular congestion, the increase in the number of the population and corruption in the systems are factors that have been the main concern of local administrations regarding the issue of transportation for Bogota citizens.


TRAIN

In june, 1889 was inaugurated the Sabana and Cundinamarca Railway was built with the purpose to connect Bogotá with Magdalena puerto salgar and it was extended to Fácatativa in 1889, in 1953 finished the construction of the train with 200 km. The train provided rail service since 1889 between the towns of Bogotá and was liquidated in 1991 together with the national railways of ColombiaThe construction of the line to Zipaquira was contracted and it was extended throughout the savannah of Bogota

In December 1992 the private company Turistren S.A.S was created.The objective of this company was to rescue the locomotives from old workshops and then the first tourist train managed to run in May 1993 and since then it has provided its service without interruption every weekend and on holidays.

In 1851 the first collective transportation system in Bogotรก arrived, it consisted of carriages that were pulled by mules and oxen. Between 1876 and 1882 the first organized passenger mobilization plan was carried out, this first plan was in charge of the French-English company Alford y Gilide

Between 1884 and 1910 Bogota Railway Company,during the mandate of Mayor Higinio Cualla, the tram project in Bogotรก began. On DECEMBER 24, 1884 The first tramway arrived in Bogota,the first rails that were built were made of wood and the first tram car that reached the city passed through there. In 1892, a tramway modernization was carried out where the first steel rails were brought from England. In March 1910 the first citizens confrontation takes place, the passengers decide to boycott the tram routes as a protest for receiving the provision of services by a foreign company In October 1910 the sale of Bogota Railway Company is made, the company sells its property on the tram to the municipality of Cundinamarca

In 1921 the closed trams were inaugurated, the first two closed trams, "Nemesios", appeared in the city of Bogotá. On April 9, 1948, the Bogotazo and the tranvia became evident, after the death of Jorge Eliécer Gaitán and the anger of the citizens, 34 tram cars were destroyedOn June 30, 1951 was the last day of the tram in Bogota, under the mandate of Mayor Fernando Mazuera Villegas the tram system in the Capital was completely eradicated. This day the tram cars paraded the streets of Bogota for the last time

Between 1903 and 1904 the first car was brought to Bogota by Ernestro Duperly and his brother Oscar. They held a parade through Colon Avenue from the Sabana Station to the Plaza de Bolivar where there were toasts, speeches and applause.From then until today, the automobile has evolved the automotive industry in Bogota and is considered the most used means of transport by Bogota citizens.automotive evolution has had different purposes considering it as a primary means of transport. In Bogota, "Pico y Placa" was implemented in 1998 during the mayor of Enrique PeĂąaloza, which is a restriction measure to control the flow of cars in Bogota and not cause so much pollution.

Days after the El Bogotazo events that devastated downtown Bogotá, including most of the tram infrastructure, the Municipal District Company replaced the burned vehicles with 3 electric buses and 16 gasoline buses.

In 1954 the Special District of Bogotá was created, which incorporated the municipalities of Bosa, Engativá, Fontibón, Suba, Usaquén, and Usme.Once the tram disappeared in 1951, in 1956 the Bogotá Bus Company was created, which sought maintenance, development and expansion of the service. At the end of the eighties the van tried to operate carrying only seated passengers. Although it never happened due to the increase in the population, it achieved its growth as a mass transport that forced open a descent door in the back part of the bus.


TRANSMILENIO.

Transmilenio the best solution for the mobilization of citizens at the time. It began to circulate on December 18, 2000 with 34 articulated buses.

Although in 1999 Transmilenio seemed the perfect solution to solve the mobility chaos, today it has received different criticisms. Councilor Jaime Caycedo told the newspaper. Currently Bogotรก has more than eight million citizens and with this the debate on solutions for mobility is once again a day-to-day topic.Currently the transmilenio company has 1,293 articulated, 493 biarticulated, 261 dual, and 812 feeders and carries at least 2,301,439 passengers per day.

On september 26, 1919 started the first proposals about air transport in BogotรกThe decree 32 69 of 1954 in bogota was created the first colombian company Aerodromos S.A
