hat does the future of transportation look like? Depends who you ask. Hollywood will pitch you the idea of flying cars and, of course, teleporters. Shell Canada has a different vision: Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), tomorrow’s fuel today. Hmm, doesn’t sound as cool as a teleporter, you say? Well hold on; we’d argue that point. LNG: may deliver a reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and can be as much as 30 per cent cheaper than diesel. Does this mean a potentially cleaner future with cheaper fuel prices? Not even Hollywood saw that one coming. But now that the future is here, Geoff Chadwick, Bison Transport driver, couldn’t be more excited. Like many young people of his generation, Chadwick put himself through university driving a truck. When he graduated he thought his truck driving days were in the rear view mirror. However, the allure of the open road, and his love for driving, brought him back behind the wheel. After nearly 40 years of driving professionally, Chadwick sees LNG as the future of long-haul trucking—and so do many others in the industry.
