Broken Bow Broken Bow, located at the foothills of the Kiamichi Mountains in the Southeast corner of Oklahoma is home to the ever popular Beavers Bend Resort Park and Broken Bow Lake. Visitors come from near and far to enjoy the natural resources that have made Broken Bow thrive. Experience cozy comfortable cabins nestled in the towering pines. Skip rocks across deep mountain lakes surrounded by national forests. Listen to a clear running scenic river or enjoy great fly fishing and thrilling whitewater adventures. There’s something for the entire family. Broken Bow Lake has 180 miles of shoreline; it is one of Oklahoma’s most scenic lakes with the shore lined with forest covered mountains. We are the place to visit for all kinds of water sports! Broken Bow Lake with over 14,000 acres of pristine deep water and is known for incredibly clear and cool waters. The marina rents jet skis and boats of all types they even have a houseboat to rent! Also located on Broken Bow Lake has paddle board rentals and a WWII amphibious duck vehicle for adventurous land and water tours. Beavers Bend State Park lies next to Broken Bow Lake and includes the Forest Heritage Center Museum, the

Nature Center, Riding Stables and Train Depot, the Lakeview Lodge, Restaurant, an amphitheater, and Cedar Creek Golf Course. Kids love Beavers Bend because there is so much for them to do! There is fishing, hiking, playgrounds, paddle boats, miniature golf, canoe rentals and float trips, a swim beach, snow cones, and much more! Mountain Fork River is one of the area’s best rivers for fly fishing, this magnificent beauty is sure to take your breath away. If you would like some great family fun, then try one of our local canoe & kayak rentals that will take you on the Mtn. Fork River and leave you with awe-inspiring stories to take home. Whether you’re fishing for trout in streams that are stocked year round or canoeing the rapids of the Lower Mountain Fork, there is an outdoor activity suited for all ages and seasons Glover River has easy access to fishing, camping, wildlife viewing, and other outdoor experiences, the Glover River is a good choice as it is the county’s only pristine river, which means it flows with no dams to stop its course. It is sure to impress you and your family. Horseback riding along the glover river is a breathtaking experience. Other activities include wagon rides and bluff rappelling.


The City of Broken Bow has a beautiful park. With covered pavilions, walking trails, playgrounds, picnic tables, baseball fields, horseshoe pits, basketball courts and much more! Fishing in park pond is available for children and senior citizens. Ouachita National Forest touts outstanding mountain views coupled with picturesque streams, rivers and lakes that provide a unique and highly valued setting for outdoor recreation. The Forest offers high quality naturerelated sightseeing and scenic driving as well as hunting, fishing and dispersed camping. Learn about the areas rich history at wayside exhibits along one of the scenic drives or experience unique botanical, mineral and prehistoric resources featured in information and educational programs. An extensive trail system provides for all types of uses including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and off-highway vehicles (OHV). The McCurtain County Wilderness Area was set aside by an act of the Oklahoma Legislature in 1918. These 14,087 acres made up the first large tract of land assigned to the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation. Within its fenced and marked boundary lies the only expansive virgin forest under state stewardship and it is also the last sizable expanse of old growth Oak and Shortleaf Pine forest in the nation.
