But, because of inertia in in•di,·iduals. the same characteristi c appears in collec tiv e affairs. Organizations cannot prosper, new plans canno t be carried out ncces fully and any united effort i rendered ineffecti ,·e. The student body refuses to take any active intere t whatsoe\·er and an ex cellently planned affair, either social or instructi\-e, meets with little appreciation. This has been noticed especially in the lack of in terest in recent reception :; and lec tures. The remedy lies in an infusion of interest in the things worth-while · f · and al o an 111 usion of energy in individuals that will re ult in activity of the right sort. Force you rself out of the spirit of co nt entment and disinterest and pu h everything that comes along. At present th ere i a ma s of luggishness in Otterbein life to be overcome. Un less individnals wake up from their sl-umber on their own initiative tho e who have zeal and nergy will ha\·e to overcome thi lack of interest and jolt the stagnated individuals out of their ruts.
