SMARTEST WAY TO LEARN What does it mean to be Otterbein prepared? It’s more than a diploma that hangs on the wall. It’s knowing how to navigate the world and your career. It’s experience that proves you’ve got what it takes. It’s values that give your life more meaning and purpose. It’s knowing you are prepared to STAND STRONG after commencement day.

What the Experts Say

What the Employers Say

How you learn is as important as what you learn. At Otterbein, experts say you’re learning the best way possible.

By blending the liberal arts and professional studies, Otterbein’s curriculum gives students a skill set nearly identical to the hiring priorities of the nation’s employers.

Show a little love. As a sign of respect, we stand for the singing of the Love Song. No one is supposed to walk while it’s being sung!

There’s a reason we call it a Love Song at Otterbein. There’s a lot to love about this place and everything that happens to you here. Professors start out as teachers and end up as long-time mentors. Roommates and classmates become lifelong friends. But mainly it’s about you. You figure out who you are at Otterbein. And every person you meet cares about that. Trust us. You’re going to love it here!

In a quiet peaceful village, There is one we love so true. She ever gives a welcome To her friends both old and new. She stands serene ’Mid tree tops green She’s our dear Otterbein. Old Otterbein, our college, We sing of thee today; Our memories round thee linger, In a sweet and mystic way. O Otterbein, we love thee, Our hearts are only thine, We pledge anew, We will be true, Dear Otterbein.

The Otterbein Cardinals compete in NCAA Division III of the Ohio Athletic Conference and since 2000 have won 66 conference championships and have had 35 NCAA team appearances, which includes 3 NCAA final four appearances.

Our coaches spend a lot of time looking for student-athletes who will be the right fit for Otterbein. They look for students who are searching for that well-balanced experience; who are high academic achievers or who want to continue to grow academically; who are focused on wanting to serve the greater good or the community around them; and certainly, at the end of the day, they’re looking for students who want to compete.
