What is Shared Ownership? It is a Government run initiative that enables you to buy a share of a property and pay rent on the remaining share that you don’t own. You need to purchase the maximum share that you can afford, between 25% and 75% of the full market value, generally funded through a mortgage, and pay rent on the unsold equity.
