In 2007, we were married, surrounded by our families and closest friends. We enjoy working together as a team on shared projects and goals.

JO H N PL AY IN G Our child will be nurtured by SO CC N IE CE S A N D N EP ER W IT H the love of their Grandpa, two H EW S Grandmas, fourteen aunts and uncles, thirteen cousins and many extended relatives. Although we don’t live near our family, we speak to them regularly and visit them often for birthdays, holidays, reunions and family vacations.

Family traditions are very important to us and we’re looking forward to sharing them with our child. Everyone in our family was immediately supportive of our decision to pursue open adoption. They are all enthusiastic about the process and very excited to welcome the youngest member of our family!

Our Community tlanta has all the diversity, opportunities and excitement of a large, metropolitan city but with small town charm. We live just east of downtown in Edgewood, one of Atlanta’s oldest neighborhoods. We’re proud of our cozy 1920 craftsman bungalow that we’ve lovingly restored. We can’t wait to be in the yard with our child playing with the dogs, feeding our chickens and collecting their eggs, getting our hands dirty in the gardens and exploring nature! Our neighborhood is full of eclectic homes, churches and schools with diverse individuals and families. Within minutes of our front door we can visit parks, community gardens, organic markets, shops, museums, college and professional sports venues, as well as a world-class theatre, aquarium and zoo. We’re looking forward to introducing our child to all the fantastic opportunities our home and community offers.

to work from home with flexible hours. He’s looking forward to taking our child on walks with the dogs and playing in the park down the street. Mike has been a special education teacher for 21 years, including teaching preschool children with special needs for the past 11 years. He’s looking forward to bringing fun, creative and educational play into our home that will enrich our child’s life. When not working, we like to garden, cook, exercise, and travel. We love nature and enjoy many outdoor FI SH IN G W IT H activities, including fishing, hiking and camping.

O U R N IE CE S We’re both artistic and enjoy doing creative projects. We also enjoy taking road trips on the weekends to many of Georgia’s State Parks, historic towns, the mountains and the coast.

We’re very excited to share our passion for learning and exploring with our child and to inspire their sense of wonder and adventure.
