DEARB I R T H MOT H E R HI, WE ARE TREVOR AND PETER. Thank you for taking the time to read our profile and consider us as your child’s adoptive parents. We have always wanted to grow our family and have reached the point where our careers and settled home life can allow that to happen. With your help we can start the family that we’ve always wanted.

E HAVE BEEN TOGETHER FOR 11 YEARS AND CONTINUE TO WORK TOGETHER AS A VERY STRONG COUPLE. We are best friends who complement our different personalities, share our ups and downs and bring out the best in each other. We met through a dating site, like the ones you see on TV. Even though we lived almost 90 minutes apart, we didn’t let distance stand in our way. We called each other every day. For our first date we went to a Chinese restaurant and rented a funny movie. After a year of dating we moved in together and have been inseparable ever since. Eight years ago we made a big change and moved from Georgia to San Diego, California. Once we

were able to get married we couldn’t wait and are now very excited to start our family. WE ARE CASUAL AND EASY-GOING. Our goal is to climb life’s mountains and relax on the other side. We like to spend our free time using our memberships to visit the San Diego Zoo, Safari Park or the San Diego Museum of Art. It is always fun inviting friends over for a home cooked meal. Trevor likes to try out new cuisines like Asian and South American and Peter likes to experiment with new twists on his favorite Southern foods like fried chicken and mac & cheese. We love to be around our friends and family. There are always board games or Wii games to play or a new restaurant to try.

MEETPETER

BY T R E VO R

PETER IS SUCH A CREATIVE AND ORIGINAL PERSON. He always has an open space at home so that he can paint. It is great to have Peter’s painting’s hanging up on our walls, and he will readily paint one for a friend if they ask him to. Peter is great in the kitchen; he can look at three items and come up with something interesting and tasty. He will invite friends and family over so he can plan a whole themed menu. It is amazing to have someone who shares my love of art museums or of finding a cool little restaurant to try.

Peter is devoted to his family and friends and is always right there when you need him for anything. He grew up

in a small town next door to his grandparents, his aunt and uncle, and cousins. Peter couldn’t be happier heading down to the lake with his niece and nephew to skip stones or to fish. Peter loves to travel and try new things. Whenever he can he will find the road least traveled, leading us to some interesting little museum or festival. I know with Peter, I will always get to try something new. Peter immediately became part of my family. My sister and Peter will always find an excuse to send each other a crazy homemade gift like crocheted lederhosen. Every Christmas my whole family, especially my grandparents, look forward to one of Peter’s fruitcakes.

SOMETIMES MY CREATIVE GENIUS HAS TO COME OUT

The first time I met Peter I knew I had found someone who understood me; he was instantly someone I couldn’t wait to see again and again. Peter is funny, thoughtful, and the best friend you could have. I know PETER IS GOING TO MAKE SUCH A DEVOTED, CARING AND AMAZING FATHER.

I was definitely nervous the first time I met Trevor, but I soon knew that he was someone I could spend my life with. Trevor is intelligent and funny, patient and positive. He has so much love, wonder, and nurturing desire inside that I KNOW HE WILL MAKE A PERFECT FATHER.

TREVOR IS THE FRIENDLIEST PERSON YOU WILL EVER MEET. He is very supportive and always ready to lend a hand. He has the ability to make everyone feel at ease and expresses a genuine interest in other people’s concerns. MEETING MY TWIN

Trevor is also a real “know-it-all,” and if he doesn’t know something, then he will immediately find out about it. He definitely believes in the value of a good education and loves to learn about new things. His years in the Boy Scouts as a child taught him respect and admiration for nature. Most of our vacations involve a state park or national monument. I’m glad that we share that fascination with the outdoors and history, as well as our love of reading. I sometimes wonder if we need a room just for our books!

I CAN’T WAIT TO BE A DAD!

My entire family from my grandmother to my nieces and nephews love to be around Trevor. He always has a funny story or an extra pair of hands to help out in the kitchen. My sister’s kids can’t wait for one of “Uncle Trevor’s” visits so that they can show off their new tricks and toys.

E LIVE IN A QUIET, FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD OF SAN DIEGO. Our home is within walking distance of a great community park and

over to hike one of the trails and come back for grilled hamburgers and homemade pickles. The best part is that we are so close to everything. During the summer we can see the fireworks at Sea World, the beach is only 20 minutes away, and mountains are only an hour away. We can take a last minute drive to Los Angeles, Phoenix, or Las Vegas. Trevor’s brother and uncle live close by us.

OURCAREERS

TREVOR: I work as a CONTRACT AND GRANT OFFICER for a local university. It is very interesting and

fulfilling to help professors and other researchers apply for funds and negotiate all the terms of the different agreements. It is very gratifying to help someone get the resources they need to do ground breaking work and to know that I helped. Working at a university means I have every weekend and holiday off and I can spend my nights at home.

Zoe LOTS OF PLACES TO HIKE & SEE NATURE

RIGHT NOW OUR HOME IS RULED BY ZOE! She is the cat that we rescued from the shelter about 5 years ago. She is almost 7 years old and still is a playful little cat. She has a big mouth and meows loudly for anything she wants like more food, even when she still has some, or to play with her toys, even at 3 AM. She loves to sit in our laps or sleep beside us.

PETER: I work at an ARTS AND CRAFTS STORE exploring my creative side by doing floral design, framing art pieces and merchandising seasonal products. I think it is fun to help people decorate their homes and to see what new things each season brings. I also paint abstract pieces and explore photography and hope to have more customers in the future. I look forward to being able to stay home with our new baby and creating a home full of imagination.

REVOR’S BROTHER, COREY, HIS WIFE AND 1 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER, ANNABELLE, LIVE VERY CLOSE TO US. It is very exciting that Annabelle will have a new cousin nearby to play with. Trevor’s sister, Erin, and her husband currently live in Chicago and are working to move out to San Diego for the beautiful weather and to be near her brothers. Trevor’s uncle, Scott, who is more like an older brother, lives by the beach and is only minutes away. Trevor’s parents live in western New York and visit San

Diego at least twice a year. His grandparents spend the winter in Arizona and are looking forward to visiting more great-grandkids. PETER’S SISTER, ANGIE, LIVES WITH HER HUSBAND AND TWO KIDS, SAVANNAH (12) AND CHASE (6), IN GEORGIA. She lives close to their parents who have been together for 38 years. His brother, Scott, lives close by in South Carolina with his wife and two kids, Fallyn (5) and Silas (3). Peter’s aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews all live near the city of

Monroe where he grew up. Monroe is close to Atlanta and just a drive away from the mountains of Tennessee or the beaches of Florida. Thanks to texting and Facebook, it is always easy to stay in contact with our families. Plus it gives us a reason to travel. We go to Georgia at least once a year for a holiday or birthday. In February we visited Trevor’s parents’ new house in New York and enjoyed playing in the snow.

FRIENDS WE HAVE A GREAT GROUP OF FRIENDS THAT WE SPEND AS MUCH TIME WITH AS WE CAN. Most of our friends here in San Diego and in Georgia have kids and are excited to share this experience with us. We already have a long list of people wanting to babysit! It is a lot of fun to go to a DriveIn movie, bowling or mini-golf with the group. Whether it is home-made tacos and tostadas at Raquel’s or picking oranges and avocados at Sandi’s, we really know that we have great friends there for us.

ational Parks are our favorites and we have had great trips to see the giant Sequoia trees, the Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, Devil’s Tower, and many more. Twice we went to Germany where Trevor used to live. Peter enjoyed the scenery, old buildings and being in a brand new country. We had a great trip to Hawaii with Trevor’s family to see his sister compete in the Ironman Marathon. We loved the tropical islands with their beaches, flowers and volcanoes. We try to find somewhere new to go even when we visit Pete’s family in Georgia. On

our last trip we went to a state park and stayed in a YURT! Savannah and Chase were very excited, especially when they could feed fish from the porch over the lake and make s’mores by the campfire. We are fortunate that we live in a place with so many great weekend adventures. We have the beaches, desert flowers, art museums, zoos, trails and parks, Los Angeles and Hollywood, Palm Springs and Las Vegas. Nothing is too far away from us. We enjoy traveling and seeing new things and we can’t wait to share this with our new family.

Family

TRADITIONS

We really get into the holiday spirit. Every CHRISTMAS we make dried fruit and salt dough ornaments for the tree. One of Trevor’s family traditions is to make chili and receive new pajamas on Christmas Eve. HALLOWEEN means it is time to carve pumpkins and watch scary movies. Trevor makes homemade marshmallows and candy corn. We like to celebrate EASTER by dyeing eggs and sharing a big meal with friends and family. THANKSGIVING is very important to us and our families. Each year we cook a big turkey, Peter makes the sides and Trevor makes delicious pies. From PASSOVER TO THE CHINESE NEW YEAR, we are always looking for new holidays and traditions to share with our family. OUR OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS TREE WITH DRIED ORANGE SLICES
