Hello! Visiting Crater Lake We are Todd and Sarah from Washington State! We can’t imagine the difficulty you must be facing in considering giving your baby the gift of adoption. We commend you for allowing life for your baby. Selecting the family in whom you will trust your child’s future is a tremendous responsibility. We know that you are considering this choice because the circumstances in your life are such that you feel it is in the best interest of your child to place them for adoption. Most importantly we know that you love your baby a great deal and it is your love that’s led you to consider adoption. We have been happily married for 6 years. We hoped to start a family but after trying every fertility procedure available we had no success at all. We are very thankful for the opportunity to adopt and we hope you will consider us as prospective parents for your child. We chose independent adoption because of the many options available to you as the birth mother and us as the prospective parents. It also allows for us to consider any preference you might have during this process, and create a trusting relationship between us.

e have known each other since before we were teenagers! Sarah’s brothers and I played basketball together a lot. Sarah and I had a few conversations, but didn’t spend much time together. That all changed when our church’s youth groups started playing volleyball. We both loved playing, and got to know each other on the court surrounded by friends. Because we lived a half hour apart and both had begun working, we only got to see each other once a week when our youth groups would meet. Then the summer I turned 22 we both attended a one-week church camping trip and spent a lot of time together. I’d always thought she was great (and gorgeous), but that’s when I realized I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. The night I asked, I was so nervous, I literally started driving south instead of north. But I got it together long enough to ask for her hand, and she said yes! One of our favorite movies is “Marty” because it is the perfect representation of the way we feel about each other.

I grew up in Olympia, Washington, with my earliest memories of playing out in a huge forest behind our neighbor’s house. I spent a ton of time outside, which is what I’d like for our kids. The summer I turned 17 I interned at a design and manufacture company that specializes in remodeling retail stores, banks, and casinos. I really enjoyed working with my hands and being active
all day. After high school I was hired full time. I’ve been working there ever since, and am now a production supervisor. I love this beautiful state we live in. Sarah and I go on scenic drives and walks, have ridden most of the ferries, and camp in different state parks during the summer. I am looking forward to “exploring” with our child and showing them the amazing world they live in.
have loved Todd for as long as I can remember. In the little things like helping me with cleanup after dinner or researching to find movies I would like to watch I am reminded daily of his love for me. Todd is a great listener and he is very compassionate. In our six years of marriage he has nurtured and cared for me through sicknesses and has made me laugh when I thought the only option was crying. Through all of this and so much more I have grown more and more in love with him every day.

I know Todd will be a great dad because he is a great husband. I watch Todd with our nieces and nephews, specifically my brother’s two little girls that live down the street and they really like how Todd gives them rides in the laundry bins and gets every toy out that they can find! We had a sleep over with 5 of our nephews and Todd let them get every mattress, pillow and blanket they could find to make a huge pile to wrestle on. He is a perfect balance for me because I would be thinking about the mess I would have to clean up!

Sarah grew up in a large family with plenty of love to go around!

SARAH
I was born and raised in Tacoma, Washington with my 9 sibilings! Being the middle child I had the best of both worlds growing up. Both my youngest brother and sister had special needs that gave me experience and a realistic view of what caring for children means. Having such a large family meant we all pitched in to keep things running. I have very good memories of being with my mom, I loved that she included us in everything she did. I can’t wait to share these fond memories with a child of our own!
As soon as we start our family, I will be able to stop working and be a full time mom. Making money and being in that world is great, but being a mother and raising our children is what I really look forward to doing. I am excited for the first year when they rely solely on us and the second and third year when they start walking and talking. Cooking, gardening, homemaking, sewing and crafts are things that I can’t wait to do with our children.

MORE ABOUT SARAH {by todd}
arah has a wonderful sense of humor, and doesn’t take herself too seriously. She has the most infectious laugh and a smile that lights up my life. She is an amazing conversationalist, bringing warmth and sincerity to everyone she encounters. She is really good at making our house warm and welcoming. Sarah will be a wonderful mother. As the oldest sister and aunt to a large extended family, Sarah has had lots of experience caring for younger children including her physically disabled sister. Since we’ve been married, our nieces and nephews have spent the night and sometimes weekends at our house a number of times. She really enjoys making chocolate chip pancake breakfasts with them, and engaging them in conversation.

HOME At our local Church
e bought our first home in the summer of 2012, in a quiet neighborhood, tucked away from the busy streets. With three bedrooms, a den and a very open living space we have plenty of room for a family and entertaining. Our back yard has an apple tree and a bunch of flowers. Our front yard overlooks a 5-acre field that is surrounded by evergreen trees. It makes for a beautiful sunset and scenery all year round.

The Pacific Northwest is very green and beautiful all year round. Spring and pink and yellow from the blossoming cherry trees and daffodils and Summer is vibrant because there are so many flowers and flowering trees that bloom here. The Autumn has such an array of colors from reds, yellows and oranges and even the Winter is beautiful because of the mountains and evergreen trees that are everywhere.
Superbowl fun!
our kitty WAFFLES affles, our kitty, was supposed to be an outside cat. Sarah, having grown up with pets, swore she would never have them in our house but Waffles melted our hearts and is now (mostly) an inside cat. He loves to cuddle and has the loudest purr we have ever heard. Our nieces really like him a lot. One of our niece’s first words was “Waffles”. She walks into our house yelling for him.

Crazy pictures on the ferry
a ADVENTURES what we love to do
o RIDE THE FERRIES: We have a lot of ferries around, being close to the water. They go between the San Juan Islands and different places up North. o NATIONAL FORESTS AND PARKS: Todd has a knack for finding scenic drives that lead up into the National Forest or take us to the parks. We really don’t have to go to far to find waterfalls, mountains and just beautiful landscapes. o CAMPING: We actually took our first camping trip last year. We took scenic drives and camped at night. We drove up into Mount Baker and hiked to Glacier Peak for a picnic.
Scenic drive to Rouche Harbor
o SEATTLE: There is a crepery in Seattle that Todd’s family used to visit. Now it is tradition that we find and sample crepes everywhere we go! o SEQUIM: A while back we stayed the night in Sequim on our way up to the Hurricane Ridge. Anyway, we came across a local cafe and fell in love with the food! o HAWAII: Sarah’s parents own a condo in Maui so when we can we like to take a longer vacation there. Sarah is a summer person so she love, love, loves the warm weather.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE e both come from larger families, Sarah has nine siblings and Todd has 5! Sarah’s brother and his family live only a few minutes away. We see them throughout the week to watch sports or for dinner. Sarah’s dad and mom live about 30 minutes away and own a large piece of land that the rest of Sarah’s family lives on. With all of Sarah’s siblings, we have a total of 17 nieces and nephews. When we all get together it is crazy, and we love it! We

can’t wait to share the “cousin love” with our little one! Todd’s dad and mom and his youngest sister live close by. They have quite the wildlife in their back yard feeding squirrels and many kinds of birds. His oldest sister and her family live about an hour away. His other siblings live further away, but we keep in frequent contact together.
family traditions Having such an extended family can make the holidays difficult sometimes, but at least we live close to both parents so we usually don’t have to travel! We started a new tradition this year for Thanksgiving. We had some of both of our families come to our house, which was quite the party! Sarah and Ruth did all the cooking and it turned out really nice. Christmas Eve dinner is usually spent with Todd’s family and Christmas is spent with Sarah’s. Her grandparents come up and the whole family gets together to open presents at her parents house. All other holiday’s are pretty spontaneous. Could be a BBQ with friends or a relaxing day off at home. We always enjoy spending quality time with our families!
