November 2013 Greetings from Big Sky, Montana! This real estate update is a summary of market conditions in the southwest Montana region, with a focus on the Big Sky area. In addition, we are including a summary of some premier listings currently represented by L&K Realty. In general, the real estate climate in southwest Montana is upbeat and we’re witnessing price recovery on all fronts. There are several highlights in this region, including the recent acquisition of Spanish Peaks and Moonlight Basin resorts by the CrossHarbor Capital and Boyne partnership. The Big Sky Town Center has also seen vibrant growth with 11 new businesses opening this past year in addition to the ceremonial groundbreaking of the $21 million Big Sky Medical Center. This summer was one of the best on record for fisherman with a spring series of hatches rivaling any year in recent memory. The first dusting of snow fell on Sept. 18 and there’s a buzz in the air for the upcoming ski season. Lifts at Big Sky Resort are slated to open Nov. 27.
