Letter From the Lifestyle Team
ASHLEY COOPER YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER
Happy New Year Esplanade Family!
Your Lifestyle Team is looking forward to all that 2023 has in store for our Members! The past year has been full of fun, and we’ve had many new Members join the community! Thank you to everyone who attended our last Signature Event, It’s a Wonderful Lifestyle.
We are kicking off the New Year with live entertainment in January featuring award winning illusionist and comic magician, Jared Sherlock. In February, the Divas through the Decades will perform a spectacular show you don’t want to miss! We are also introducing Starry Night Meditation and sound healing once a month for those who enjoy a stressfree environment.
Make sure you check out our Interest Groups and Social Clubs where you’ll join like-minded neighbors and meet some new friends! If you have an idea for a club you would like to start, reach out to your Lifestyle Team.
Monthly Pickleball and Tennis socials will be hosted by our Head Court Sports Teaching Professional. More information about these events will be sent out via email and available on our website. We hope to see you there!
A friendly reminder to register for all events using our online interactive calendar on the Esplanade at Artisan Lakes website. If you are unable to attend an event after registering, please contact your Lifestyle Team as soon as possible. Our goal is to make sure everyone can enjoy our activities and if we see specific events becoming more popular, we will host more of those types of events. Have an activity you would like to see on our upcoming calendar? Suggestions are welcomed! Please let me know by sending me an email! I am here to assist you in any way I can.

YOUR MASSAGE THERAPIST
Who is your hero?
My mother and my father.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
A place surrounded by beauty, water, and trees. A place with a great view and peaceful, tranquil, fertile soil.
What motivation do you have to work?
I believe faith without works is dead. What gives me motivation is believing that the Most High gives us gifts and talents that enable us to provide or ascertain the life we would like to live. I want to teach my children to believe in this as well.
What is your favorite thing about your career?
The benefits that people receive from Massage Therapy! It is not just about the muscles or the aches and pains, it’s about the total wellness of the massage and seeing people’s lives transform.
What is your proudest accomplishment?
Giving birth to my children, to my dreams and to my passion. Giving birth has facilitated in the manifestation of each of the things I’ve mentioned.
What makes you laugh the most?
I find great joy in many things that make me laugh, especially when I’m around other people who get my humor.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
First, I wanted to be an obstetrician/gynecologist, then I wanted to be a professional boxer and I wanted to dance. I never stopped wanting to be an obstetrician or a midwife; I guess that’s somewhere in the middle of holistic healthcare.
If you could do anything for a day?
Where were you born?
Sarasota, Florida.
What are your hobbies?
Singing, painting, exercising and walking nature trails.
What are some places you have visited?
The Gatineau Hills, Martha’s Vineyard and Turks and Caicos.
What are you most thankful for?
I am most thankful for the gift of life and the ability to carry and bring life into the world. I am also thankful for being a mother.
I would love to spend the day with my family on a vacation doing something to create a loving memory. Everybody would walk away expressing joy and great memories, even if it was just for one day sitting on a porch, watching the children play. We would have good food, laughs, good vibes and conversation. Elders could bestow the wisdom and the youth could express themselves as well and ask the questions that we often don’t get to ask in our rushed lives.
What is your favorite game? Chess.
If you could only eat one meal every day, what would it be?
Greens, cornbread, fried oyster mushrooms, caesar salad, wild rice, watermelon soup, black eyed peas and sweet tea.

Furry Friends Meet Malibu
LOVED
BY SAL & MICHELLE MARROCCO
What breed/type is your pet and how long has she been part of your family?
She is a 4-year-old Yorkshire Terrier and joined our family on November 15, 2018. She has been part of our family since we moved to Esplanade. When we brought her home for the first time, she would bark at herself in the mirror. She was only two pounds, but thought she was a big tough dog.
When you travel does Malibu travel with you?
She loves to go places with us, especially to New Jersey where we are originally from. She loves to go for car rides!
What is her favorite treat?
Her favorite treat is a giant steak bone that is bigger than herself.
How do you celebrate your pet’s birthday?
For her birthday we usually buy her a new toy. Then, we go walking and have dinner in St. Petersburg.
What are a few amazing qualities about your sweet pup?
She loves to hunt for lizards. She loves people and getting massages from our visitors. Malibu’s amazing qualities are she can manipulate you with her cuteness and you will be putty in her paws!
WANT TO FEATURE YOUR PET?
Contact your Lifestyle Manager, to be featured in the next edition of the Lifestyle Magazine. Answer a few questions about your furry, feathery, or scaly friend and share a couple pictures.
What’s Your Wildlife Personality?
We invite you to discover which amazing wildlife species channels your inner self by taking the National Wildlife Federation’s wildlife personality quiz with just eight questions. We all have a wild side. What’s yours? Visit blog.nwf.org/2022/06/ quiz-whats-your-wildlife-personality

Response Team) Club and the Euchre Club. We enjoy bingo, LRC, watercolor painting classes, and the special events such as karaoke, Halloween party, and comedy night. We are looking forward to many other activities. Karen’s hobby is mosaics.
Tell us about your family and current or past professions. We are high school sweethearts who have been married for 51 years. We have a daughter and a son who blessed us with four grandsons and a granddaughter. Our family has been our most rewarding choices. We are retired. Ed worked as a pharmacist and Karen worked as a public health nurse.
What is the best advice you have ever received or given? Dreams can be achieved if you work hard enough.
Where is the most exciting place you’ve traveled to and what made it so memorable?
Twenty years ago, we fell in love with the island of Saint Maarten/St. Martin. It consists of two separate countries, French side, and Dutch side. The beaches are beautiful, the restaurants are outstanding, the nightlife is vibrant, there is duty free shopping and more. We have made many friends over the years at our preferred resort.
Why did you choose Palmetto, Florida and specifically, Esplanade at Artisan Lakes? Is your residency full-time?
QWe started visiting the Bradenton area four years ago. Finally, we decided we were tired of the cold weather and snow. It was time to move to Florida for the sun and warm weather. Our longtime friends from Michigan, Roger and Sue Thorton, moved to Esplanade at Artisan Lakes and introduced us to this lifestyle community and its amenities. We looked at several communities and decided that this one had everything we were looking for.
How long have you lived here?
We moved in five months ago and are full time residents. People are very friendly and welcome newcomers with open arms. We could not be happier in our new home and community.
What Lifestyle programs are you most interested in? Are you in a club? Do you attend any classes/clinics? Hobbies? We are members of the CERT (Community Emergency
Tell us something that might surprise people. Family is so important to us! Many people cannot believe we moved to Florida!
