Best (PR) every time I go. I weightlifted in high school and loved every second of it. Lifting weights is my happy place along with spending time with my siblings.

What are you most thankful for?

I am most thankful for my (grand) parents and siblings. I wish I could give them everything they deserve and more and I truly hope that one day, it will happen. They have been there for me since I was a little baby and they’ve taught me everything I know. My siblings mean the world to me, and I am beyond thankful that I have such a loving supportive family and boyfriend who continues to show me unconditional love.

Who is your hero?

My (grand) father is my hero. He’s always been there for me through thick and thin. He loves me unconditionally and is my number one supporter. He’s taught me how to become a smart, funny, powerful, caring, and humble woman. He is always there when I need him and will fight my obstacles with me. I am truly a daddy’s girl and will always cherish it.

What is your proudest accomplishment?

My proudest accomplishment is graduating high school and it’s one of the many accomplishments I will make in my life.

What do you enjoy most about Esplanade at Artisan Lakes?

I enjoy how close we are with each other. This is the best work family I have ever had. This is such an amazing community, and I am so honored to work in this wonderful place and be able to help the Members. I love getting to know all the Members and see their happy faces when they are walking through the doors. There is so much positivity and love here. This is truly the definition of an amazing community.

Where were you born?

I was born on February 9 and mostly raised in Bradenton, Florida. I lived in Puerto Rico for about four years and in Cleveland, Ohio for two years. I graduated from Palmetto High School in May of 2022 and I am currently attending State College of Florida.

What are your hobbies?

I honestly love to hang out with my family and friends as much as I can. I love to spend time with my siblings and go out on dates with them. When I don’t work or have school, I like to go to the gym, which is my second home. I LOVE lifting weights and having a new Personal

Marki has two siblings, Maximilianne Charlotte and Luke.

When you travel does Marki travel with you? Yes, he travels with the family when possible.

What is his favorite treat?

His favorite treats are peanuts and gruyere cheese.

What are a few amazing qualities about your sweet pup?

He is a very sweet and friendly dog that loves attention. Marki loves evening walks and his 10 minute a day stuffed animal play time. He can’t handle anything longer. We love him so much; he’s been a constant blessing for our family and we are so grateful for every single day with him!

Why did you choose Esplanade at Artisan Lakes and how long have you lived here?

After touring many communities I chose here because the central location and lifestyle. Our Amenity Center is one of the nicest I have seen. I love the secluded feel, nestled away from traffic and retail bustle. I have lived here year-round for just over two years.

What Lifestyle programs are you most interested in?

QI enjoy attending Esplanade activities where I get to know new people or chat with friends. The artistic activities are so creatively fun. Game night of “Right, Left, Center” is my favorite! The hostess Wendy puts a lot of her flare into making it a very cool evening. Each month I love seeing the creativity that Ashley and her team invest in our programs. Their passion for planning shows up in every event!

AAre you in a club?

I’m presently “mixing it up” by checking out a variety of our Lifestyle offerings. Since fashion, closet organizing and outfit optimization are my passion, I hope to start a “Wardrobe Fix” Club that offers fashion tips on style secrets and how to dress right for your body type.

Do you attend any classes? Tell us about your hobbies. I love yoga and meditation, anything artistic, garden buds, events like the magic show and drum circle. The Lifestyle team really does an extraordinary job of making our lives full of fun. My hobbies are golf, gardening, yoga, meditation, entertaining, hosting Goddess parties for friends, interior design, fashion coaching, home organizing and my Cabi clothing line trunk shows.

Tell us about your family and current or past professions. I was raised in the northwest Chicago suburbs by my dedicated parents and was involved in their caretaking until they passed. I enjoy helping others learn and master reverse parenting. I value the close and loving relationships I have with my two beautiful stepdaughters from my previous marriage and have fun traveling to visit my two wonderful grandsons. I have “mad” love for my puppy ZjaZja.

I was trained as a dental hygienist, developed a niche dental training company and recently sold it to a large conglomerate. I left dentistry in 2010 to pursue my first professional love - fashion! I became a noted fashion stylist and Dillard’s National Fashion Educator. I had fun producing and hosting a monthly video broadcast for all Dillard’s associates to learn clothing line sales trends.

What is the best advice you have ever received or given?

“Keep a sweet balance between work and play.” I’ve learned that work duties will always be there, but purposefully dedicating time to relax, rejuvenate and have fun with loved ones is priceless!

Where is the most exciting place you’ve traveled to?

I stayed in a Yurt at a low-echo footprint preserve in St. Martin. It was so gorgeous to wake up to deer walking five feet from where I was sipping coffee. The beauty and serenity was heavenly!

Tell us something that might surprise people.

I love growing roses and pick a bouquet to grace my kitchen island every week.

Esplanade Ladies Luncheon

We would like to highlight our Ladies Luncheon Special Interest Group and honor Nancy Schneider who spearheaded this group in 2014. Our heart is in our Mission Statement: This Special Interest Group is a social means to gathering with new Members and friends, and to nurture the human spirit in committing to paying it forward through charitable giving outside the community.

On the second Wednesday of each month, this group ventures offcampus to Peridia Golf and Country Club where Nancy decorates a private room with various themes and holidays to make the event welcoming and adventurous.

The Lunch group serves as a social means to meet and engage with new Members and create valued friendships. In addition, it gives back to our community through a 50-50 donation and sharing with various charitable organizations. Over the years some of the recipients have been Meals on Wheels Food Bank, Boys and Girls Club, One More Child, Christmas Shoebox for Seniors and the Marine Corps Toys for Tots organization here in Manatee County, to name a few. It has been a joy for the ladies to give “little ones” less fortunate than most a memorable Christmas plus help provide food, etc. to other charities of choice throughout the year.

As the lunch membership grew in numbers over a period of time, Nancy comprised a committee of wonderful worker bees, which

consists of: Sue Coughlin, Prepaid Lunch Collection Coordinator; Stephanie Leddy, 50-50 Coordinator; Sue Brett, Lunch Admin., and Dottie Achmoody, Quarterly Program Coordinator.

We would like to thank Nancy for her nine years of faithful service, as well as welcoming Dottie Achmoody as the new leader of this amazing group of ladies. We are grateful Nancy will remain on the committee as Decoration Coordinator.

Key Lime Martini

Florida’s most famous dessert is our inspiration for this sweet-yet-tart cocktail.

INGREDIENTS

» Graham cracker crumbs

» 2 ounces vanilla vodka

» 1/2 ounce Key Lime juice

» 2 tablespoons Coco Lopez cream of coconut

» 1 ounce pineapple juice

» 1 ounce heavy whipping cream

DIRECTIONS

1. Rim a glass with graham cracker crumbs.

2. Fill martini shaker with ice.

3. Add the remaining ingredients listed above.

4. Shake and pour through a strainer.

5. Garnish with a twist of lime peel.

We are thrilled to share that we are welcoming a new team member, Karim Otky, Head Court Sports Professional to our community! Karim looks forward to meeting the Members of Artisan Lakes and enhancing our sports programming!

With more than 26 of years coaching experience spanning three continents, Karim has worked with athletes from the amateur level all the way to the pro level, and at the most prestigious tournaments in the world including the U.S. Open. He’s held the position of Court Sports Director in Tennis Academies, Country Clubs and HOAs in several countries around the world.

Having coached on the ATP, WTA, ITF and Junior ITF, Karim brings lots of know-how and is sure to take your game to the next level. Karim is an active athlete, still playing and training himself. He also enjoys cross-country biking and just achieved a 7,000-mile journey this past summer that took him all over the U.S. and Canada.
