Letter From the Lifestyle Team

ASHLEY COOPER YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER

Make it an Esplanade Season to Remember!

The Holiday Season has finally arrived and your Lifestyle Team has lots of fun, festive events planned for you and your family to enjoy! In the upcoming months, you will be able to attend events such as A Tribute to Veterans, Friendsgiving Potluck hosted by the Neighbors Breaking Bread Club, our first annual Fall in Love with Wellness Expo and a variety of holiday social gatherings! I am most excited for our last Signature Event of the year, It’s A Wonderful Lifestyle, on December 2. Make sure to mark your calendars!

During this time of the year, Esplanade at Artisan Lakes partners with the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots in November and Meals on Wheels shoebox collection in December to give our community the opportunity to bring joy to the lives of others during this season. We hope you join us as we support these amazing organizations!

The monthly Pickleball and Tennis socials will be hosted by our Head Court Sports Teaching Professional, David Lloyd. More

information about these events will be sent out via email and available on our website at EsplanadeArtisanLakesLifestyle. com. We hope to see you there!

As I reflect on this past year, I love to think of all the fun times we have shared so far. Your Lifestyle Team is so grateful to be a part of this community, getting to know our Members and creating memories with you all. It will be 2023 before we know it, so please email me with different ideas for events you might want to see come in with the new year. I look forward to seeing you at our upcoming gatherings, and if you need anything before then, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Happy Holidays!

Ashley

Toast to the wonderful life at Esplanade. Come celebrate the season with friends and neighbors while enjoying appetizers, music and fun!

Furry Friends

Meet Humphrey

What breed/type is your pet and how long has he been part of your family? We got Humphrey, a yellow Labrador Retriever, when he was six months old.

When you travel does he travel with you?

Humphrey is an excellent passenger and he travels with us by car.

What is his favorite treat?

Humphrey enjoys Newman’s Own Turkey & Sweet Potato Dog Biscuits. He also especially likes to eat cut-up carrots in the kitchen as he keeps us company during dinner preparation.

When is your pet’s birthday and how do you celebrate?

His birthday is January 4 and we like to plan a special outing for Humphrey such as a visit to Emerson Point Preserve. The car ride plus the adventure of walking along the trails with new sights and scents is especially enjoyable for him.

What are a few amazing qualities about your sweet pup?

Humphrey has the ability to tell time! His dinner time is 4 p.m. and, without fail, within a few minutes he approaches and stares at us intently until we prepare his dinner. Humphrey is now older and can’t run and catch balls in mid-air like he used to, but he still loves to play ball with us. We roll the ball to him, he catches it, and then with his nose he rolls it back to us! This back-and-forth goes on for quite a while until he eventually tires of the game. Humphrey is a very loving and sweet dog. He’s great company, fun-loving, and a wonderful comfort dog.

10 Ways to Attract & Enjoy Birds this Fall A

utumn brings dramatic changes in the bird life of any North American backyard. As many of the feathered residents that visit your yard during summer go south, migrants from regions to the north will pass through. Some will make brief stopovers while others will spend the winter. You can make the most of this seasonal avian passage by making some adjustments to your property that will attract greater numbers of different birds in the fall—and help them thrive.

Provide running water

Leave sugar water feeders out

Clean out birdhouses

Create brush piles

Plant evergreens

Increase the number of feeders

Move the action closer to the house

Provide foods for insect eaters

Bring bird sounds indoors

Protect birds against collisions

Visit nwf.org/Magazines/National-Wildlife/2010/Attract-Fall-Birds to learn more about these simple steps to maximize the number and variety of birds living in your yard this autumn.
