Where were you born?
I was born in Clearwater, Florida—often referred to as the “Sunshine State.” You might even say I embody the classic “Florida Man” vibe!
What are your hobbies?
In my free time, I absolutely love playing pickleball, which has become a passion of mine. I also enjoy fishing whenever I can, as there’s nothing quite like spending a day out on the water. Additionally, I find fulfillment in my work, which keeps me engaged and motivated.
Tell us something that might surprise people.
Many people might be surprised to learn that I have been playing badminton for over ten years! I’ve competed all around Florida, but most of my matches have taken place in Orlando. It’s a sport that I truly enjoy and has helped me develop my athletic skills.
Where is your favorite place that you have traveled to?
One of my favorite places I’ve traveled to is the Fort at Egmont Key in Hillsborough County. I was captivated by the rich history of the site and the breathtaking views it offered. It’s a place where I felt a strong connection to the past while enjoying the natural beauty of Florida.
What is your favorite part about Florida?
What I love most about Florida is the incredible weather, which allows for year-round outdoor activities. The people here are friendly and welcoming, creating a strong sense of community. And, of course, the fishing opportunities are unbeatable—there’s nothing quite like casting a line in Florida waters!

What breed is your pet, how old, and when did he join the family? We adopted Max when he was a puppy and he is a five year old Dachshund, born on June 13.
When you travel does he travel with you?
Max loves to go on car trips with us. His favorite thing to do is to sit on our laps with his head out the window.
What is his favorite treat?
Max has many favorites, but he LOVES dried chicken tendons.
What are a few amazing qualities about your sweet pup?
Max is loyal and very protective of his family. He is funny. He makes silly noises and poses when he is very happy, and loves baths!
Tell us a fun story involving your pet.
Max loves attention, so when he sees our neighbors he always wants to say hello. He will run to everyone and lay on his back for belly rubs. He thinks he is human and does a little yell if you ignore him!

Why did you choose Esplanade at Artisan Lakes and how long have you lived here?
I live here full-time! Esplanade at Artisan Lakes had everything I was looking for and I chose this location to be close to family. I also had
friends currently living here. I have been a Member for three years. Prior to this, I lived on Long Island, New York for 26 years.
What Lifestyle programs are you most interested in?
I am the group leader for Social Activities for Singles and co-host for Bunco. When I’m not traveling, I’m actively involved in the community. I participate in pickleball and enjoy cornhole and bowling in my free time. I’ve also tried the pickling vegetables class and the challah bread workshop, which were a lot of fun!
Tell us about your family and current or past professions.
My family is from Queens, New York, where I grew up and married my husband, William, in 1994. I worked in the media industry for 40 years, starting as a secretary and eventually becoming a Supervisor of Broadcast Traffic. I retired in January 2022 after relocating to Florida.
What is the best advice you have ever received or given?
Live life to the fullest!
Where is the most exciting place you’ve traveled to and what made it so memorable?
It’s difficult to choose just one, but Cuba and Greece are my top favorites. I’m captivated by the beauty and architecture of these remarkable places. I love to travel!
Tell us something that might surprise people. I parasailed in Bradenton, FL, at the age of 62 with my family. Despite having motion sickness, I made it through the adventure!

Wheels in the Morning Club

AMarylander my entire life, we moved to Esplanade at Artisan Lakes in April 2023. I have been infatuated with Mustangs since my uncle gave me a ride in his burgundy coupe when I was eight years old. At twelve years old, I declared that I must have a Mustang as my first car. When I was fifteen, I was armed with $400 that I saved with a promise from my grandmother that she would fund the remainder, and my father and I went out Mustang hunting!
We looked at many, some too expensive and some too powerful (according to my dad), but in March of 1974 we found a one-owner 1968 Mustang Convertible. It was a 4-speed and candy apple red with a white top. Much to my chagrin, my dad offered less than what they wanted for it stating that “nobody pays asking price” and we left. Thankfully, less than an hour later they called us back saying they would take the $900 offered. I was a Mustang owner even though I couldn’t (legally) drive it! That was my first Mustang and I still have it.
During my teens, I learned of Carroll Shelby and his racing program with Ford that dominated GT and B production through the midsixties. This time, I set my sight on a Shelby Mustang and at the age of 29 I was able to achieve that dream by investing every penny I had
into that car. It is a ‘66 Shelby GT350 Hertz addition and I still have that car.
As my marriage and career progressed, I began to add a Shelby or Mustang every 5-10 years and, in fact, have never sold one. So, I now own five Shelby Mustangs, a Roush Mustang, and my convertible. All but one Shelby are housed in Maryland. Here in Esplanade, I have my 2020 Shelby GT500. Kudos to my bride, Susan who has put up with this nonsense for all these years. She has been so understanding and supportive of my car passion.

Esplanade Lifestyle & Wheels in the Morning Club is planning a car show! We would like to invite our Members that have a sports car, classic car, antique car, or motorcycle to join us. We are planning a fun afternoon with lawn games and entertainment. We would like to have a minimum of 25 vehicles. There are many nice vehicles in our development.
