New Year, New You!

Esplanade has many events focused on your wellness for 2023 as well as some fun surprises. Fall was full of fun and in case you missed some of our events, in October we continued our annual tradition, Howl-O-Ween and added a Hauntingly Fun House for the fall festivities. We also held our first Pickled Pink Pickleball Tournament and Think Pink Women’s Event to bring awareness to breast cancer.

In November, we hosted our first Fall in Love with Wellness Event featuring many local concierge partners as well as some of your Azario team. Later that month, we hosted a Meet & Greet to introduce you to Esplanade Resort Experiences & Troon Management. Members mingled and enjoyed a lovely casual evening. Our Grand Wine Tasting was well attended again, and Members stocked up for the holiday festivities.

We collected four bins of food to feed local families for our annual food drive and collected more toys than Santa can fit in his sack for Toys for Tots again this year. We hosted our final Signature Event of 2022 at Benderson Finish Tower. It’s a

Wonderful Lifestyle, here at Esplanade and a grand time was had by all! Pizza was a hit at our Cooking & Cocktails Series: Three Pillars of Pizza as Azario hosted two sold-out events! We enjoyed Battle of the Boards grazing board contest and had a wonderful time at a Hot Cocoa Happy Hour with Santa, complete with a cocoa and s’more bar.

Clubs are thriving at Azario; we have a new club leader for Men’s Happy Hour and we are so pleased to have a leader for our Garden Club! Esplanade 101, Neighborhood News and Coffee & Conversation are held each month and we are pleased to be able to host limited seating for our Esplanade 101 meetings.

We are pleased to welcome Mary Winter to the Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch family, as your new Spa, Fitness and Wellness Manager! Mary was born and raised in Kentucky and has lived across the United States including California, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Indiana and Illinois. When Mary’s only child started school, her and her husband William moved back to Florida and settled in.

Mary has worked as a leading consultant and on-site director for upscale facilities including fitness and wellness centers, tennis facilities, hotels and hospitals for over 30 years. Her unique experience in hospital fitness and wellness allowed her to lead the way in helping traditional medical facilities integrate holistic methods, creating a balanced wellness model that enhances the whole person. Mary’s passion for wellness has led her to help others create a lifestyle that addresses the complete person, including mind, body and spirit.

Her husband William is the technology analyst and lead trainer for Accrisoft and was recognized as the world record holder for the video game Lode Runner. Their only daughter Bella is a high-level tennis player, currently playing the #1 position for UMass Dartmouth. Mary looks forward to offering five-star services and programs tailored to the Members of Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch.

Furry Friends Meet

Milo

LOVED BY KAREN HERNANDEZ

What breed/type is your pet and how old? Milo is a 3-year-old American Bulldog, Boxer mix.

Does your pet have any siblings? Yes, Matthew and Stephen, whom Milo loves and Facetimes with.

What are his most unique qualities or something funny he does? Milo is very smart. He does, “Bang, bang, you’re dead” (plays dead), rolls over, gives high fives, speaks, and takes out the garbage.

When you travel, does he go or do you have a favorite caretaker? Milo travels with us as often as possible, especially to visit my son in the Navy, up in Jacksonville. When he can’t come along, he stays at Pet Suites in Bradenton.

What is something naughty that your pet is always doing? Milo’s naughty trait is sitting on my white couch. He often hides and tries to peek to see if I’m watching.

What is his favorite treat and how do you celebrate his birthday? Anything with peanut butter! We celebrate his birthday with a small piece of steak, a birthday hat, and a peanut butter cupcake. Around Town

Our favorite parade of the year! Pups were paraded with their humans for this annual tradition! The costumes were frightfully fantastic!

Pickled Pink PICKLEBALL

Members gathered for our first Pickleball Tournament! It was a positively pink party benefiting a local women’s breast cancer charity.

The ladies gathered for a fabulously pink brunch and HerScan Breast Ultrasound screenings went on throughout the day. Members left with a beautiful treat from the soon-to-be Spa and a rose quartz hope stone to carry as a reminder of our wellness and blessings!

AQUA-FIT

This all-levels aqua boot camp class combines core strengthening, muscle toning, flexibility and cardio exercises. This class innovatively uses the unique buoyancy, resistance, and movement of water. The ability to swim is recommended but can include non-swimmer and other aquatic exercisers.

WATER WARRIOR

This all levels, high energy, cardio focused water fitness class that will focus on cardiovascular endurance and muscular endurance while toning muscles with the natural resistance of the water. Show your inner warrior in this deep-water class and feel your body burning and getting toned without harsh force or impact on your joints!
