From time to time, over the past few months, I have walked around Vitality Park here at Esplanade at Azario, contemplating what makes a community. Lakewood Ranch is indeed idyllic, entwining the pastoral with the present in a way that celebrates the heritage of the area, as well as offering best-in-class services and amenities for Members and visitors alike.

Outside of Lakewood Ranch, we have access to some of the planet’s most beautiful beaches, stunning state parks, professional sport teams, a burgeoning culinary scene, and museums that would grace any capital city around the world. There is a reason that Lakewood Ranch is the most in-demand area in the entire United States! However, regardless of what an area has to offer, a community can only prosper through the actions of its Members.

Esplanade at Azario Members took up three tables at the V Foundation during the 18th annual Dick Vitale Gala helping to raise $12.4 million in the fight against cancer. The mission

of the gala is to raise funds for pediatric cancer research across the United States, as well as promoting awareness of pediatric cancer and the devastating emotional, physical, and financial cost to families affected. Find out more about this special organization at www.v.org

We have Members meeting various local non-profit organizations to see how best we can support the local populations. The most common question I am asked by our Members is how we can help those who are struggling ... closely followed by questions about the opening of the Bahama Bar!

It is this that makes a community, the desire to help those in need coupled with a commitment to live life to the fullest. This is our Esplanade at Azario community.

Michelle is originally from West Sussex in England and has been living in the Sarasota area for over thirty years. She has two children and two grandchildren who also live in Sarasota. Michelle comes to Esplanade at Azario Lakewood Ranch after working for some of the most highly regarded hotels and spa providers in the area. She is delighted to be part of the Esplanade at Azario team and is very excited to be able to introduce our tailored wellness services to our community of Members.

Outside of providing best-in-class wellness programs, Michelle loves to travel, especially to areas in which she can hike, ski, and explore. Michelle is also a ballroom dancer who regularly travels with her dancing partner to compete in nationwide competitions!

Furry Friends Meet Holly

Holly is a ten-year-old Golden Retriever. Originally from New York, Holly has settled into life at Esplanade at Azario, although she would prefer her summer walks to be a little cooler! Holly was named after legendary musician Buddy Holly, with Holly’s brother being named Buddy. Initially, Jennifer and Thomas were due to home Holly’s brother but as a Mother’s Day surprise their children brought Holly home too and they made quite a team! Holly loves cuddles on the sofa and taking any unguarded socks and shoes to her bed.

Classic Daiquiri

Inspired by the beautiful island country of Cuba, celebrate the summer season with this classic cocktail.

INGREDIENTS

» 2 ounces light rum

» 1 ounce lime juice (freshly squeezed)

» ¾ ounce demerara simple syrup

» Lime twist

DIRECTIONS

1. Add the rum, lime juice and syrup to a cocktail shaker.

2. Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well chilled.

3. Strain into a chilled coupe glass.

4. Garnish with a fresh lime twist.

Beginning in April, the Esplanade Resort Experiences team hosted a series of Debut Celebrations across multiple Esplanade communities, giving over 1,700 Members the opportunity to meet with the team of highly talented leaders dedicated to elevating how they live and connect within the community they call home.

Both informative and fun, Members browsed interactive experience stations demonstrating the array of concierge-level services and Lifestyle programming being introduced as a part of the Resort Lifestyle at Esplanade.

Those who attended got a sneak peek at some of the upcoming national programs being developed by the Esplanade Resort Experiences leadership team.

The spirited “Salute” station was hosted by your National Manager of Food, Beverage & Culinary Experience, Patrick Scully along with other culinary leaders supporting the Resort Lifestyle. Members got a taste of what’s to come in the world of culinary, including a new SIP Wine program.

National Director, Liz Thompson and CJ Hamlin, National Manager of Lifestyle & Concierge showed Members how they can embrace their inner explorer and uncover what’s to come for travel opportunities with the recently launched luxury travel program, Destinations by Esplanade. Members also explored a wide range of concierge services through Esplanade Concierge, further elevating the signature Esplanade Lifestyle.

Crystal Steere, National Manager of Spa, Fitness & Wellness showcased how to discover your zen with uniquely curated wellness offerings, with samples of the Esplanade private label bath & body care collection, The Spa Retreat.
