Happy Holidays!

As we are approaching the end of another wonderful year, there’s no better time to celebrate all that brings us together. The holiday season is a time for joy, reflection, and connection, and we’re excited to share these moments with each of you. Whether you’re joining us for festive events, engaging with our community activities, or simply taking a moment to enjoy the beauty of the season, we look forward to making November and December truly memorable. Let’s celebrate the end of the year with gratitude and excitement for all that’s to come.

November and December are brimming with exciting events and activities! In November, come together for our annual Friendsgiving gathering, where Members are encouraged to bring their favorite dishes and enjoy time with one another. We’re also reintroducing daytime bingo, hosting “Wellness Under the Stars,” and offering an offsite Board and Brush event. As we move into December, we’ll start the month with our gingerbread competition. We will head to the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall both months to enjoy stunning shows and performances. Plus, look forward to a variety of other fun activities throughout the month!

As we approach the end of 2024, let’s cherish the memories we’ve created together and look forward to new adventures in the coming year. Here’s to a joyful farewell to 2024 and an exciting welcome to 2025!

Please welcome our Property Controller, Kristie Cox! Originally from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Kristie and her family moved to Sarasota in 1996 to embrace the Florida lifestyle. She earned her Business Management degree from Florida State University, where she discovered her passion for finance.

Before joining Azario, Kristie spent nine successful years at the Sarasota Ballet, where she played a pivotal role in overseeing the organization’s financial operations. Her extensive experience there has equipped her with a unique perspective and valuable expertise for her current role.

Kristie is a proud mother to her college-aged son, Mathew, who is pursuing his academic ambitions. In Kristie’s free time, she enjoys reading and has a deep love for horses and animals. We are excited to welcome Kristie as a key member of our team!

Why did you choose Esplanade, and where are you from?

Steve and Helene fell in love with Esplanade after visiting for their son’s wedding at the Ringling Museum. They explored the area and were drawn in by the beautiful surroundings, fantastic amenities, and the proximity to friends. Helene, an avid lover of theater and the arts, was thrilled with the cultural offerings nearby.

What is your favorite place to travel?

They both enjoy traveling to Europe, with Italy, Spain, and Greece being among their favorite destinations. They’re looking forward to future travels.

What activities and events do you like to participate in?

Both Steve and Helene are passionate about Pickleball. Helene also enjoys tennis, canasta, and mahjong. They share a love of cooking— Steve has a passion for preparing Latkes and even won a James Beard Award. He looks forward to sharing his cooking talents, especially with the holiday season approaching. Steve is also an expert at BBQ, always trying out new recipes and appliances.

Meet Baylie & Beau

LOVED BY ELIZABETH & SCOTT DYGERT

Baylie and Beau are two Australian Shepherds who relocated from California to Azario. In their younger years, they participated in agility training and even did a bit of modeling. Baylie is 9 years old, and Beau is 7. Both love to travel, and their cross-country journey in May was an exciting adventure, allowing them to visit many states along the way. They enjoy morning walks in the community, trips to the beach, and frequenting dog-friendly restaurants. They also attend Music on Main and the Farmers Market. On hot days, you can find them strolling at the UTC mall.

Members gathered at All Faiths Food Bank to sort, organize, and pack food items in the warehouse. Their efforts contributed significantly to serving the local community and helping feed families across multiple counties. The group’s dedication played a key role in supporting the Food Bank’s mission of providing essential resources to those in need.

Summer Nine AND DINE

Throughout the summer months, Members enjoyed select Monday evenings filled with golf, music, and fantastic food! They played nine holes of golf in mixed foursomes, followed by live music and delicious dinners from different food trucks at each event.

Line Dancing LESSONS

Members gathered to learn how to boot, scoot, and boogie over the last few months in preparation for the Boots & BBQ Signature Event, led by a dance instructor from Arthur Murray Dance Studio.

Charcuterie CLASS

Graciously Made came to Azario in September and October to teach Members all the tips and tricks in making a charcuterie arrangement. Members learned how to cut and arrange different types of cheeses, and fold meats to make them aesthetically pleasing

Trivia NIGHT

Members gathered at the Wellness Center Veranda for our bi-monthly Trivia Night, where their knowledge and skills were put to the test in a fun, competitive atmosphere. Teams battled it out for a chance to claim one of the top three spots!

Labor Day CELEBRATION

Members gathered at the Bahama Bar and around the Resort Pool to celebrate Labor Day. It was a fun-filled afternoon. Members enjoyed delicious food and drinks provided by the Bahama Bar while cooling off in the pool and soaking up the sun.

Diamond Heist MYSTERY DINNER

Selva Grill UTC hosted an exciting mystery dinner, complete with a mouthwatering meal for the Members of Azario. Members came together for an evening of intrigue, working to solve the ultimate mystery while enjoying a delicious dining experience!
