Letter From the Lifestyle Team
HAYLEY SMITH YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER
Fall is on the Horizon!
We hope you have enjoyed the summer and are staying safe during this year’s hurricane season. As we look ahead to September and October, we are thrilled to share the exciting events we have planned for our wonderful community.
Mark your calendars for our next Signature Event, Boots & BBQ! Join us for an evening of music, delicious food, and dancing under the stars. This is an event you won’t want to miss, so dust off your boots and get ready for a night of fun and festivity.
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Members will have the opportunity to participate in the annual Pickled Pink Pickleball Tournament, with proceeds going to breast cancer research. This is a wonderful opportunity to support a worthy cause while enjoying a spirited day of pickleball. Whether you’re a seasoned
player or new to the game, we encourage everyone to participate and help make a difference.
Join us for the next installment of our Cooking & Cocktail Series, where we will explore various ways to prepare lamb. This event is perfect for culinary enthusiasts looking to expand their repertoire while enjoying a delightful evening with fellow Members. As always, our favorite chef, Patrick Scully will guide us through each recipe.
We are excited to bring you these events and look forward to seeing you there. Thank you for being a part of our community and for making Esplanade at The Heights a place of joy, connection, and camaraderie.
Brittany Monda
YOUR LIFESTYLE CONCIERGE
We are delighted to announce that Brittany Monda has joined our team as Lifestyle Concierge. Brittany is a Florida native who brings with her a wealth of experience and a vibrant personality that we’re excited to have on board.
Brittany earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from the University of South Florida. With over 15 years of experience in customer service and hospitality, she has honed her skills in delivering exceptional service.
In her free time, Brittany loves catching Rays games and spending quality time with her rescued German Shepherd, Bear. She is an avid foodie, always on the lookout for the next great local restaurant to explore.
We are thrilled to welcome Brittany to our team and look forward to the energy and expertise she will bring. Please join us in giving Brittany a warm welcome and if you haven’t already done so, feel free to stop by the front desk to introduce yourself.
Aqua Fitness
We are happy to have Aqua Fitness back on the schedule! Stay cool and get fit with this low impact full body workout for all levels. Classes are every Monday morning at 9 a.m. at the Resort Pool. Register on the Mindbody app to participate.
ADVANTAGES OF WATER-BASED EXERCISES
Water-based exercises can improve muscle tone, provide cardio fitness, boost your mood, and help you get better sleep. Physical fitness also reduces risk of diseases like diabetes and heart disease. Unlike many other exercises, movements done in water reduces impact on your joints making this an option for those with arthritis or various injuries.
Exercises done in water are not only building cardio strength, but also muscle due to the resistance. This in turn burns more calories, making this a very effective option for all ages and fitness levels looking to improve various aspects of their health. Members of Esplanade at The Heights can now enjoy Aqua Fitness classes in the convenience of their own neighborhood, so grab your towels and sign up today!

Furry Friends
Meet Lucy & Larry LOVED BY AARON & KIM KERR
What kind of pets do you have (breed) and how old are they?
Lucy is a mix of mostly Chihuahua and Rat Terrier. Larry is a short hair domestic cat with orange and white coloring. They are both nine years old.
What are your pet’s favorite treats?
They both enjoy Greenies. We have to pay the turkey and cheese tax to Lucy when the deli drawer opens in the fridge. She also enjoys peanut butter flavored treats.
How did your fur babies join your family?
We adopted Larry when he was a kitten from a rescue in Baltimore in 2015. At that time we also had a 10-year-old cat, Marty. We adopted Lucy last year from Nate’s Honor Rescue. We went to the shelter one day to just have a look, but Lucy (formerly known as Prissy) immediately stole our hearts and she came home with us that day.
Anything else you would like to share about your pets?
Rescuing Lucy as an 8-year-old has come with challenges. She was surrendered to a kill shelter in Georgia and after being there for a month, Nate’s took her in. She was only there two days before we adopted her, so they didn’t know much about her. She comes with a lot of baggage, and we have been working with a trainer. She is nervous around new people (she wears a sign that says “do not pet”) and has issues with other dogs. On walks we often cross the street or turn around to avoid dogs, but there are times the rescue in her comes out and she can’t help but bark. She is super loving to her family, constantly begging for pets, and we are happy we can help her live her best retirement years. Larry is enjoying his retirement in Florida by patrolling the lanai and chasing lizards.
It’s Leave the Leaves Month!
You might think that gardening for wildlife is only something you do during spring and summer, but there are things you can do to attract and support beautiful butterflies, bees and birds year-round. Fall is a terrific time to keep active in your garden! Make it even better for the multitude of wildlife species that need fallen leaves as a habitat to provide cover to survive the coming colder months. Learn more and educate others on wildlife-friendly and neighbor-friendly landscaping practices all year long with National Wildlife Federation at nwf.org/LeavetheLeaves

Get inspired by a story from two of our Members, Linda and Dennis Ferry, who had the opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable experience with Destinations by Esplanade: Charismatic Mediterranean Cruise.
“This was our first cruise and it was absolutely wonderfulthe trip of a lifetime. We toured Barcelona, Spain (Sagrada La Familia), Palamos, Spain, Rome, Italy (the Vatican), Amalfi Coast and Poisitano, Igoumenitsa, Greece (The Meteora Monasteries), Argostoli Cephalonia, Greece, Taormina, Sicily (loved it here), Kotor,
Montenegro on the Dalmatian Coast, Split Croatia, and Venice on our own (one of our favorites)! Our experience with Destinations was delightful. Everything went smoothly and they thought of everything, all we had to do was be present. Also, because we booked as a part of Destinations by Esplanade, Oceania knew that I had just retired. We were at dinner in the French Restaurant with another couple and out comes a cake. When we returned to our room it was all decked out with balloons and banners and champagne ready! It was such a nice surprise! We highly recommend Destinations by Esplanade and will certainly use them again for future travels.”
