Meet Pandy & Harry LOVED BY IAN & RONA SIMMONS
Both rescues. Both needy. Both come with a story.
Pandy, our Tuxedo Cat, is 8 years old, sedentary and feral. She came to our door at 8 months old, not ready to join life indoors. We fed her for a month or so and succeeded in getting her into our screened lanai. Little did we know, she was in heat and wanted out through the screen. She disappeared for several weeks only to return with her five kittens.
Pandy welcomed the lanai this time and took care of her brood for six weeks. We found great homes for all five kittens and decided to keep mom. As a feral cat would, she did not come out from under the bed for three months. She feared every lawnmower, landscaper, and visitor in our home. It was a tough challenge. We thought adopting another cat would help.
Enter Harry, our purebred, 6-year-old Siamese, the polar opposite of Pandy. Ian belongs to a cat lady network. He received a call from the Boca Animal Hospital to meet Harry, who had been running with a feral pack. We fell in love with this beautiful, hyperactive, blue-eyed, loving kitten.
He became the alpha cat. Poor Pandy - hiding again! Harry has a 10-word vocabulary and must be part dog because he has a complete understanding of commands. He will go to any lengths to get our attention.
Today, we have two loving, well-adjusted cats that love us as much as we love them.
n honor of National Pet Day in April, our dedicated Members came together to support the Humane Society of Port Saint Lucie with a heartwarming donation drive. As part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement, our Members generously contributed essential supplies to help care for the beloved pets at the shelter.
We know that our Members are passionate about connecting with the local community through philanthropic opportunities and charitable giving. We would love to share the ways you are making our community a more positive place, as well as ways Members can get involved. Tell us about it so we may highlight your efforts in future publications. If you would like to share any acts of kindness and philanthropy, big or small, please contact your Lifestyle team.

Carolyn Kealty
The Members of our community are truly what make this a wonderful place to live. In each edition, we will spotlight a Member, couple or family to showcase the amazing people who call our community home. If you would like to be featured or want to nominate another Member, please contact your Lifestyle Manager.
If you see someone walking at top speed around the neighborhood, it is probably Esplanade Member Carolyn Kealty. Carolyn, a two-time Olympic Trial Racewalker, and National Racewalking Team member, is actively training for competition at the Masters Level. As a matter of fact, Carolyn recently broke the 1600meter racewalk American Record in her age group (60-64).
In her 40’s, she competed in two Olympic Trial events in the women’s 20k Racewalk. “Qualifying for the Trials twice and competing at the National level against much younger competitors still motivates me now, as a competitor in my 60’s.”
Racewalking is a judged Track and Field sport sanctioned by USATF. It is performed either on a track or on the road depending on the event distance. The judges are looking to disqualify participants if either of two rules that govern the sport are broken.
First, there can be no loss of contact with the ground. So, no running, lifting or flight phase as in running. Second, the advancing leg must be straightened as the body passes over it from the moment of first contact with the ground. In other words, no bent knee. Carolyn feels she excels at this sport because of its required technical base combined with its required fitness base.
This is a sport in which both mind and body must work in sync to complete the race distance without disqualification while racing against the clock. Carolyn, an aggressive competitor, trains 5-6 days per week. Carolyn works hard to maintain an elite level of fitness,
focus, and confidence without being tied down by her competitive training schedule. Her next race is in July in California and then she is off to the Masters Indoors and World Masters in 2025.
“I always want to compete knowing that I have trained the best I could. My hope is that I follow a daily plan that leads to greatness. That said, I also keep things in perspective; keep a sense of humor; and always want to be the first on the dance floor with a glass of wine. I am very appreciative of the unwavering support that I receive from family and friends.”
Join us in wishing Carolyn the best of luck in her upcoming training and events!

The Science Behind Celluma: A Breakthrough in Light Therapy
In the realm of skincare and wellness, innovative technologies continue to reshape our approach to achieving radiant, healthy skin. Among these advancements, Celluma light therapy has emerged as a standout treatment, offering a non-invasive, versatile solution with a wide range of benefits.
SO WHAT IS CELLUMA?
Celluma is a unique form of light therapy that utilizes LED (lightemitting diode) technology to deliver specific wavelengths of light energy to the skin. These wavelengths have been scientifically proven to promote various cellular processes, including collagen production, tissue repair, and inflammation reduction.
BENEFITS OF CELLUMA
One of the key reasons for Celluma’s growing popularity is its versatility and effectiveness across different skin concerns and conditions. Here are some of the notable benefits:
1. Acne Treatment: Celluma’s blue light targets and destroys acne-causing bacteria, helping to clear existing breakouts and prevent future flare-ups.
2. Anti-Aging: Red light therapy with Celluma stimulates collagen and elastin production, leading to firmer, smoother skin and reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
3. Wound Healing: The combination of red and infrared light promotes cellular regeneration, aiding in faster healing of wounds, cuts, and bruises.
4. Pain Relief: Celluma’s technology can also be used to alleviate muscle and joint pain, as well as stiffness associated with conditions like arthritis.
5. Skin Rejuvenation: By improving blood circulation and cellular
metabolism, Celluma contributes to overall skin health and a more youthful complexion.
WHY CELLUMA STANDS OUT:
Unlike many other skincare treatments, Celluma is non-invasive, painless, and requires no downtime. Sessions are relatively short, typically lasting around 30 minutes, making it convenient for busy individuals seeking effective skincare solutions.
Furthermore, Celluma is backed by scientific research. Studies have demonstrated its efficacy in various applications, giving consumers confidence in its ability to deliver tangible results.
HOW TO INCORPORATE CELLUMA INTO YOUR ROUTINE
Consulting with a skincare professional is the first step to determining if Celluma is right for you. They can assess your specific needs and recommend a treatment plan tailored to your skin type and concerns.
Regular sessions are often recommended initially, followed by maintenance treatments to sustain results. Some individuals incorporate Celluma into their skincare regimen alongside other treatments, such as facials or microneedling, for enhanced benefits.
In conclusion, Celluma represents a significant advancement in skincare technology, offering a safe, effective, and scientifically validated approach to achieving healthier, more radiant skin. Whether you’re battling acne, signs of aging, or seeking overall skin rejuvenation, Celluma’s transformative potential is worth exploring. Unlock the power of light therapy and discover a new dimension of skincare. (Resource: Celluma.com.)
