editation is the habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect thoughts. Did you know meditation can be used to increase awareness of yourself and your surroundings? Meditation is often used as a way to quiet the mind, thus reducing stress and developing a deeper level of concentration. If you are interested in meditation practice, download the Headspace or Calm Apps on your smart phones and set an alarm to schedule time to meditate. Start early. Try to meditate first thing in the morning. If you’re a beginner, try meditating for short periods of time at first, as long stints of meditation could be challenging. Be kind to yourself. Some days will be easier than others. At its root, meditation is about learning how to treat yourself with kindness no matter what you may be experiencing at any given moment. Remember that it’s a meditation practice, so it’s not always going to be perfect.

r. Jack Gorman and Gerri Morrison are both from Pennsylvania and live in Esplanade at Tradition with their dog, Suzy (a Westie). Jack, Gerri, and Suzy are thrilled to be new full-time Florida residents. Dr. Jack was a podiatrist whose specialty was foot and ankle surgery, and Gerri was an elementary school teacher who was a reading specialist. Jack enjoys watching sports and fishing and Gerri enjoys reading and playing golf. They both cheer for all Philadelphia sports teams and their favorite destination to travel to is Aruba where they enjoy the island life with the varied activities and exceptional seafood restaurants.
