TEAM SPOTLIGHT
Corrin Godlevske YOUR LIFESTYLE MANAGER
Y
ou may already know and love her - we are proud to formally introduce your Esplanade at Wiregrass Ranch Lifestyle Manager, Corrin Godlevske. Corrin is responsible for providing you with an Inspired Lifestyle. Working with the Esplanade National Team, she carefully curates everything from Signature Events to Karaoke Night, to everything in between. Corrin’s goal is to provide unique experiences for her Members to enjoy and be there to support you in any way she can. Being a Lifestyle Manager is the perfect job for Corrin. She has always loved to create and communicate. Corrin graduated from Butler University with a degree in Marketing and Strategic Communications. Initially working in Chicago after college, Corrin visited family in Florida and decided it was time to come home. The rest is history as Esplanade at Wiregrass Ranch is now her second age-qualified community. She could not imagine serving a better community. “The Members at Wiregrass have quickly turned into family,” Corrin shares. When Corrin isn’t providing Wiregrass with unique opportunities, she can be found spending time with her significant other, Michael, and their dogs, Izzy and Josie. Izzy is a soon-to-be three-year-old Australian Shepherd who gives Corrin a run for her money. “Most days, Izzy is more intelligent than I am. She has an innate emotional sense, which is, unfortunately, paired with a need for mischief and a whole lot of sass. Her most recent trick is learning to throw a hardplastic bone at your ankles if you don’t take her to the park when she demands.” Josie, a six-year-old Black Lab, is the newest addition to the household. When Josie first came to Corrin ten months ago, after being rescued from a life jeopardizing situation, she had two torn ACLs, couldn’t walk, and had severe internal heart inflammation. “Thankfully, she is in perfect health and spends most of the day cuddling on the couch and getting harassed by Izzy, like the rest of us.” Corrin states. Corrin and Michael love to travel, recently crossing off a major bucket list item of hiking the Grand Canyon. “It’s the one thing I think everyone should go see. Pictures simply do not do it justice,” Corrin shares. She is also an avid cook and enjoys working out. In November, Corrin will be running her first half marathon and strongly encourages you all to ask her how training is going for accountability. As Esplanade at Wiregrass Ranch continues to grow, Corrin cannot wait to grow with it. She is grateful to be a part of such a lively bunch and excited to see what the future holds. If you ever need anything, you know where to find her!

Furry Friends MEET Jovi - LOVED BY STEVE & ROBERTA HYDE Jovi is a 10 pound Miniature Schnauzer made up of pure love. He is six years old, loves to take walks, and tries his best to get neighbors to pat him. He also enjoys sitting out on the lanai. His humans say he is an excellent watchdog! Jovi’s favorite treats are Cheerios and you can often find them in Roberta’s pocket! But, of course, he also likes Charlee Bear dog treats. Jovi tells us that he is anxiously awaiting the grand opening of the Esplanade dog park so that he can play with his dog friends off-leash.

Around Town Picasso and the Allure of the South, presented exclusively at The Dalí, explores the influence of southern Europe on Pablo Picasso’s revolutionary work.
S
ome of Picasso’s most creative and prolific artistic periods took place during extended sojourns in the mountain towns of northern Spain and along the Mediterranean coast of France. This ambitious exhibition considers the artist’s deep and abiding connection to this cross-cultural region, where he made many of his most important contributions to modern art. “Picasso and the Allure of the South represents an exceedingly rare opportunity to experience masterworks by the artist through the innovative lens of place and cultural context,” said Dr. Hank Hine, Executive Director of The Dalí. Why Esplanade at Wiregrass Ranch? We fell in love with Esplanade the first time we walked through the model homes. We looked all over the Tampa area, and ultimately it was by far our favorite place. We knew it was the place we should be.
What’s your favorite food? Tom is a foodie and loves all types of food. Sue likes a lighter side with plenty of strawberries.
What new skills would you both like to learn and why? We have always grilled year-round up north, even in the winter through sleet and snow. We kept our grilling very basic then. Now that we have more warm weather yearround, we are working on learning new grilling skills. Our first focus has been around vegetables. We have been mixing

WELLNESS
A Practice to Cultivate a Curious Mind
F
irst, find a quiet, comfortable place where you won’t be distracted. You can be sitting, lying down, or even standing up. Second, recall your most recent run-in with a habitual pattern. See if you can remember the scene and focus in on the habitual behavior itself. What did you feel when you were about to act it out? What did that urge to go ahead and “do it” feel like? Next, check in with your body. What sensation can you feel most strongly right now? Pick only one from this list, the one you feel most strongly: » Tightness » Pressure » Contraction » Restlessness » Shallow breath » Burning » Tension » Clenching » Heat » Pit in stomach » Buzzing/vibration
14 ESPLANADE LIFESTYLE MAY/JUN 2022
Is it more on the right side or the left? In the front, middle, or back of your body? Where do you feel it most strongly? Now, let out the sound “hmmm” like when you’re curious about something—is that hmm on the right side or the left? In the middle, front, or back of your body? Don’t worry about what area you picked. They are all perfect. Was there anything you noticed about being curious about whatever part of your body you felt the sensation in? Did being a little curious help with getting closer to this sensation? See if you can get curious and notice what else is there. Are there other sensations? What happens when you get curious about them? Do they change? Follow them over the next thirty seconds, not trying to do anything to or about them, but simply observing them. Do they change at all when you observe them with an attitude of curiosity? Whenever an urge to repeat a habitual behavior comes up—or even while you’re in the middle of the behavior—see if you can practice dropping into curiosity. Florida Panther From the National Wildlife Federation
T
his subspecies of the mountain lion (puma concolor coryi) once roamed throughout the southeastern United States, but is now federally listed as endangered and only found in the southwestern tip of Florida. At birth, the kittens are born blind and covered in dark spots, which help camouflage the kittens under forest debris. They are vulnerable to predators. As they develop, the spots fade away and they look more and more like adult panthers. The kittens stay with their mother for about a year and a half before they leave to form their own territories. Florida panthers live about 12 years in the wild. Panthers are carnivores. They are skilled at hunting white-tailed deer, feral hogs, raccoons, and other medium-sized mammals and reptiles. Despite intense recovery efforts, fewer than 230 of these remarkable predators remain in Florida today due to risks such as wildlife-vehicle collisions, habitat degradation, territorial disputes with other panthers, and urban sprawl. To learn more about Florida Panthers and how the National Wildlife Federation is helping protect native wildlife at nwf.org/ Educational-Resources/Wildlife-Guide/Mammals/Florida-Panther.
