ON THE COVER
National Farmer’s Market Week is the first full week of August. We are fortunate in Solivita to have Market Days that include produce and much more every Monday and Friday from 10am-2pm with summer hours of 9am-1pm in the Freedom Park parking lot. An assortment of vendors sell seafood, meat, spice blends, honey, popcorn, meat pies, bread, cannoli’s, pet food and accessories, cuisine foods, resident handmade arts and crafts and so much more. In addition, clubs in Solivita have the opportunity to sell tickets to their upcoming events in this area. If you haven’t been to the Market in a while, there’s so much that’s been added and there’s more considerations being made for the future.

The Freedom Park Parking Lot Has A Lot Going On!
BY JANA MALIK DIRECTOR OF ACTIVITIES
Solivita Market
Many of you may not know that the Activities office also oversees the Solivita Market, which is held on Mondays and Fridays from 10am-2pm with summer hours of 9am-1pm. We have recently seen a surge of new vendors interested in selling new specialty foods, craft items and other non-commercial/retail items to our Solivita Market.
Before we accept any new vendors, we make sure interested vendors are not selling the same items as a current vendor, as we have a no-compete rule. We also require they provide copies of their State or Polk Co. Business Tax Receipt, liability insurance, auto insurance and food license, if applicable. In addition, we offer the opportunity for resident clubs to sell tickets to their events. If you haven’t checked out the new offerings available, stop by and support our market vendors so they return week after week.
Solivita’s Ultimate Tailgate Party

Also situated in the parking lot is the OneBlood Drives on the 2nd Monday and last Friday of every month from 10am-2pm. Solivita residents have donated and saved so many lives over the past 20 years. This is truly commendable! If you can donate blood, go to www. oneblood.org and search by sponsor code 10253 or scan the QR code above.
Community Garden
Close by the parking lot is the Solivita Community Garden and the time is near to register for the Fall 2024 Garden season held from September-February.
New gardeners pay $50 which includes a $25 refundable deposit or $25 for renewing gardeners. Planter Box is: 4’ x 6’ x 24” or 32” H.
An online application is available by scanning the QR Reader, on the SolivitaHOA.com Home Page at the Purchase Activities Events Here icon or stop by the Activities Office. Application and payment are due by August 18th. Gardeners are picked by random drawing by August 23rd.

Monthly Club Ticket Sales
With Mosaics being utilized for F&B Tuesday through Sunday, monthly Club Ticket Sales has moved to the 1st Monday of every month. In August, it will be on Monday, August 5th from 10am-12pm. This will include the 1st Monday in September, which is Labor Day.
Online Activities Ticket Sales Website
We experienced an issue with our new online ticket sales platform, as many of you discovered during the start of the July 1st ticket sales. We reached out to the webmaster to rectify the problem so we do not experience this again. They also fixed where you can print your tickets out from a pdf attachment. We have heard from many and we are trying to see if the event image on the printed ticket can be removed (to save your printer ink). As we continue to build our ticket sales platform from the ground up, we are working diligently behind the scenes with the webmaster to bring us up to the level we are used to. Fortunately with this ticket sales website, we are able to accept credit card as a form of payment. We do not anticipate any slow down at the August 1st 9am ticket sales as they will be monitoring our site very closely. Thank you for your understanding.
Whether in a parking lot or elsewhere in Solivita, Let’s Keep The Party Going!!!

The HOA, Security, and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office receive multiple complaints of speeding each week from residents within the Solivita community. The Sheriff’s Office has been asked for their assistance in speed enforcement. Receiving a speeding ticket is not only financially costly, but can lead to much more serious results.

The Purpose of the Program
» To foster a sense of community and belonging to their neighborhood and the Solivita community.
» To serve as a conduit between the Neighborhood and the Community Association and Solivita Club by attending monthly meetings.
» To assist neighbors in getting to know neighbors to achieve the progression of “Resident to Neighbors to Friends.”
» To achieve these goals through neighborhood events and communication through the neighborhood Gmail system.
Learn more on SolivitaHOA.com > HOA (top menu) > Scroll down to Neighborhood Captains icon. Captains may send in articles and photos to CaptainProgram.Solivita@gmail.com . The content must be about an event, activity or other neighborhood program and will be limited to 100 words.
Venezia South Neighborhood
Venezia South residents got back into the swing of having good times together with various successful events this year, with more fun planned for future gatherings. Among our activities were a Meet and Greet, holiday desserts and sing-along, and our biggest (and tastiest) event – a delicious potluck dinner. We hardly had room for all the wonderful dishes! We finished off spring with a pizza night. Future events for the fall and winter will include an evening of vocal entertainment performed by Julia Wood-Siblis and Keith Outlaw, and an evening being tricked by the Solivita Sorcerers of Magic club.
Versilia Neighborhood
Versilia has had a blast this year so far. One of our newest events was attending a Dr. Phillips Broadway Musical. This year, we attended the 10 Tony Award-winning, including Best Musical, Moulin Rouge. The updated music and fast-paced performance was a hit, with over 25 neighbors in attendance. We have already made plans for next year to see A Beautiful Noise with the music of Neil Diamond. With over 40 neighbors already signed up, this is sure to be a repeat event each year!
Resident Kudos
This section is about accomplishments and achievements of Solivita residents. All submissions should be 100 words or less and can include one to two photos. Articles about a specific resident can only be submitted once per year. Send submissions to Reflections@SolivitaClub.com
