conceptions of music, dance and theater and combines and alters the concepts in a new and unusual way. The idea behind STOMP is to learn to find music in everyday noises. STOMP breaks customary boundaries of theater by inviting the audience to participate in the show, demonstrating that everyone has the ability to STOMP, and encouraging us to take what we know about sound and rhythm and apply it to our everyday lives.

FRI, APR 22, 2022 11 AM Overture Hall

THU, APR 28, 2022 10 AM & 12:30 PM Capitol Theater

Produced by BRUSH Theatre, South Korea

It’s everything you expect, but like nothing you’d imagine. A fusion of Ireland’s vibrant and longstanding dance-form and elements of American innovation, Trinity Irish Dance Company (TIDC) dazzles audiences with its hard-driving percussive power, lightning-fast agility and aerial grace. Minutes into watching the awe-inspiring precision of its dancers, TIDC expands whatever notions you may have about Irish dance, revealing its limitless possibilities through a performing arts lens.

“Afrique en Cirque” is a highly colorful creation featuring a handful of amazing acrobats and musicians from Cirque Kalabanté, performing their authentic choreography to the frantic rhythms of djembes and other native instruments of Guinea. To the melodious sound of the kora, artistic director and company founder Yamoussa Bangoura takes us into an elsewhere that radiates the diversity of traditional African arts combined with the virtuosity of the North American modern circus performance.
