Managing The Live Q&A Or Conference Panel
Q&A Workshop
Speaking on a panel is a terrific opportunity to advance the point of view or your organization–if you possess a set of skills to help you manage your moderator, co-panelists, and audience.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND Anyone who wants to learn how to speak concisely, comfortably and compellingly on a panel.
DURATION 3 hours
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP Conference panels can be dull affairs – particularly if you have an unprepared or unskilled moderator. This workshop will give you skills for shining on a panel despite having a weak moderator or co-panelists who can’t stop talking. You’ll learn how to best prepare for a panel, and as well skills for managing the panel: how to (politely) interrupt, re-direct the flow of the conversation, and make your points memorably.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN Ø How to understand and deliver audience expectations; Ø How to communicate your messages concisely and compellingly; Ø How to interrupt air-hogging co-panelists and make your point; Ø How to manage a weak moderator; Ø How to avoid the questions you don’t want to answer without seeming rude or evasive; Ø How to deal with audience members who won’t stop talking; Ø How to stay calm and in control when the panel goes amuck; Ø How to use storytelling to make a lasting impression on your audience.
