Owen was the design-build civil, structural, mechanical and electrical Engineer of Record for this 4 level, 1.2 million sq. ft., 1,900 car parking structure as part of the ARB team. The facility includes office/retail space, public restrooms, rental car facilities, and utility and roadway improvements. Owen performed complete engineering and construction support services. Our team was selected through a nation-wide design-build competition. The project is one of the largest parking structures in California.

As a turn-key project manager, Owen oversaw this $25 million project from design through construction completion. Owen provided full-service project management, architectural and engineering design, and construction support for the site improvements, including new platform, 5 level- 350 space parking structure, and landscaping. This project was led by City of San Bernardino Redevelopment in association with SANBAG and Metrolink. The project won the Caltrans 2005 Excellence Award.

SPRINTER Line

Owen provided electrical and fire protection engineering design services during the construction of this 22 mile state-of-the-art light rail system, including 15 stations, linking the cities of Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, and Escondido in San Diego County. The Sprinter is a diesel light rail system operating in the pre-existing track of the San Diego Northern Railroad.

Maple Street Multi-Modal Facility

Owen | Parkitects designed this multi-modal transportation facility for the City of Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency. Located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles, this 7 level facility devotes its entire lower level to an MTA Bus Terminal and includes 421 public parking spaces and restroom facilities. The facility provides access to a variety of transportation options.

Street Improvements

Owen provided complete civil engineering services, including electrical engineering support, for Live Oak Street, Firestone Boulevard, Hunt Avenue, and Kaufman Avenue.

Work included street and storm drain improvements, grading, and utility relocations and connections.

Security/ CCTV/ Lighting Design Metrolink Perris Valley Line

Metrolink Perris Valley Line

The Perris Valley Line extends Metrolink commuter rail service 27 miles from Riverside to Perris along the I-215 Corridor. Owen performed as the design team electrical Engineer of Record. The project included a new fiber optic backbone and fiber optic camera network at each of five new stations.

Subway Stations

Owen provided seismic retrofit engineering services on the Santa Fe Railroad Bridge for the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Works in accordance with Caltrans funding requirements and procedures.

This bridge was also a part of the Alameda Corridor Rail Improvement Plan.

As part of BES Construction, Owen provided structural engineering design and construction engineering services for two segments of a design/build project of an 11-mile viaduct using an Incremental Launch System in Taiwan.

Owen provided site planning, architecture, and engineering Provided mechanical, electrical and plumbing design services for three OCTA vehicle maintenance engineering design services for the North Hollywood, facilities including service bays, vehicle inspection stations, Universal City, First/Boyle, Little Tokyo, Civic Center and CNG fueling stations, and bus wash facilities.
