A NOTE FROM COACH
As the year wraps up, I wanted to take some time to thank everyone for the support of our program. We plan on doing a lot of new things moving forward that would not be possible without your help. We are so grateful for the amazing players, parents, friends and family, that follow along with our journey and always find ways to help elevate our team. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
-Head Coach Brenda SemitSUMMER 2024- HERE WELCOME!
One things that would not be possible without your support is traveling abroad as a team. For the first time ever, Ohio Wesleyan Field Hockey will be traveling abroad! At the end of July, our team will embark on a journey to the Netherlands!
While there, we will stay in Amsterdam, Haarlem, Maastricht and Utrecht, exploring places like the Anne Frank House, the Kinderdijk Windmills, Royal Palace and the De Haar Castle, while also embarking on a few boat and bike tours! We are beyond excited!
We will also have the opportunity to watch a high-level international match, be coached with a licensed Dutch professional coach and play against 2 Dutch hockey teams! Not to mention, we hope to meet up with a few of our Dutch alumni and one of our incoming Freshmen!!
SEMESTER RECAP
Through the Spring semester, the girls worked hard in the classroom, weight room and on the field.
One of our goals this spring was to make sure that our team GPA stayed above a 3.5, and it did!
We had 18 out of our 25 players above a 3.5! We know how hard our girls work in the classroom and are so proud to see them performing at a high level in every aspect of their lives!

In the weight room, we improved in every category across the boards for our benchmarks!
Dead Lift

Megan Mccarthy
Annabel Fauver
To the right you’ll see our benchmark leaders! Hang cleans had 5 players all hit the same max number!
Megan McCarthy led in 3 different categories!
On the field, we mixed up our schedule a bit this year since we were allowed 8 extra practice days. We did our normal team practices and added in more individuals. Every member of our team was required to do 3. Some took advantage and did as many as they could!
We cannot wait to see how the extra touches and extra feedback impact our players in the fall!
DALE BRUCE AWARDS
Each year, Ohio Wesleyan Athletics host the Dale Bruce Awards to honor exemplary student-athletes and their academic and athlete achievements. We are extremely proud of all our young young women that were honored that evening.

The teams that attended were, Wittenberg, Denison, Earlham, Kenyon, Mercyhurst and an adult team, filled with former college stars from all levels, Cowtown!

GRADUATION
To wrap up our school year we watched our four seniors, Allie, Lauren, Megan and Emily, walk across the stage and receive their diploma. We are so thankful for their contribution to OWU and our field hockey team and cannot wait to see all of the amazing things they do after college!
To highlight their amazing careers, in their 3 years of competition, they had an overall record of 44-10. They were 2 time NCAC Champions, a regular season champion and had an undefeated regular season! The also advance to the NCAA twice and completed in the Sweet 16 after winning our first ever NCAA matchup!
Our seniors had some unbelievable statistics over their 3 years! They helped the team scored 162 goals and only allow 27 against! We also led all of Division III NCAA in 4 different categories, for two years straight!
We are unbelievably proud of our seniors and all they have accomplished! As always, GO BISHOPS!
ALUMNI GAME
we have had amazing turnouts, so please keep your calendars open! We are looking at the end of March or beginning of April again and we hope to see you there!
