GENERAL MANAGER UPDATE

February is already here, and we are

probably about two months from teeing it up again! We had a great January at the club. THANK YOU to all who came out to join us for member events and dining.

The search committee has narrowed their search down to three amazing General Manager candidates. Each candidate comes with years of experience and would be a great fit for Oxbow Country Club. The committee will be having their final interviews this month and the new General Manager should be here by the beginning of March!

I will help out as much as possible

February again offers many opportunities to experience some fun and unique events, only

our next Trivia Night on February 19th. The category for this month’s Trivia is Local Trivia—know all things Fargo and all things North Dakota! Our “Party Like an Animal” event was a blast. The Red River Zoo brought a stick bug, turtle, and prairie dog to the club and gave an interactive presentation on each animal. The prairie dog got to run around the ballroom in his plastic ball—the kids absolutely loved it!

Kids also enjoyed animal cookie decorating, face painting, games, coloring, and a dance. We look forward to hosting this event again! 4

Valentine’s Dinner February 14 4-Course Dinner w/ Wine Pairings (Regular Menu Available)

February should be a very fun month at the club. This month I am hosting a pizzamaking class! This was one of the first culinary classes we did after moving to the new clubhouse. It’s back by popular demand! This

one fills up quick so be sure to sign up ASAP. We will also be hosting another wine dinner since it’s by far the most popular culinary event we have. I am still thinking about a theme for this one—if anyone has any input please let me know! For Valentine’s Day, we will be doing a special 4-course dinner. The regular dining menu will be available as well that evening.

For this month, I want to share a quick and easy pizza dough recipe. This will be the same recipe we will be using for the cooking class this month. Ingredients:  1 tablespoon dry active yeast  1 tablespoon brown sugar

 1 cup of war water  2 ½ cups high gluten flour  2 tablespoons olive oil  1 tablespoon salt Procedure: In a small mixing bowl add your yeast, sugar, and water. Stir this together with a fork and let it sit for 10 minutes. In a large mixing bowl add your remaining ingredients and the yeast and water mixture. Mix all of this together until all the flour is absorbed. Remove from the bowl and knead for 5 minutes. The kneading helps to stretch the gluten which will give the crust a nice bite after it is cooked. Place back in the bowl and let it rest for 45 minutes or until it doubles in size. You will then punch the dough until it is deflated or until your aggression is gone. You can make one

big pizza pie with this or make smaller individual doughs for the family to create their own ZA. Add some sauce cheese and toppings and bake at 400 degrees for 12-18 minutes. Enjoy!
